Kronos Editor Bug?

Post by trstack »

I'm using a Kronos 88 with OS 1.6 and the 1.0 Kronos Editor.

I transfer "All" data from the Kronos to the editor. When I'm in set list mode and select "edit program" from the Kronos to alter the drum track tempo, the editor jumps from the current set list program to another unrelated program or combination.

Shouldn't I be able to maintain the set list function in the Editor and just modify the tempo?

The editor should reflect the program or combi that I'm editing not change the program or combi on the Kronos. Yes, I can just move the tempo knob but I want to dial in a specific tempo so I need to see the value.

I moved the Kronos to MacBook Pro USB connection from my USB (powered) hub to a direct Kronos to Mac connection and have the same issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Because the editor is focussed on parameter editing and not performance as the Kronos is, some subtly differemt design decisions were made. On the Kronos, selecting a different Program in the Set List places that Program in the Program editor and wipes out any edits made to that program.

In the editor, the current edit buffer is maintained until you make do something that specifically requests a change so that any edits are not lost. After selecting a new program in the Set List, double click on the entry in the editor and it will put the Program you are interested in into the editor.

yes, but it is not pulling up the relevant Program. If I edit from the set list and the program is I-A 004, the editor will switch to I-A 009 or soeme other unrelated program that was not part of the original combi or program.

Yes, unlike the Kronos, the editor will retain the contents of the program edit buffer unless you specifically change it. So, if you are in Set List mode and select a different program for a slot then switch to program mode (in the editor) by clicking on the program button in the upper right of the editor you are going to get the program currently stored in the software's program edit buffer. If you want to specifically edit the program you have selected in the Set List, double click on that Program and it will be placed in the Program edit buffer.
