Dirty Triton Mr. Clean!!

Post by DCPete »

Just recently picked up a WELL USED Korg Triton Pro X in what appeared to be grimey, dirty & well scuffed condition. Gaffa tape residue, scratches, smudge marks & general grime PLUS highlighter transfers almost welded around buttons for ease of stage view etc...

I paid very little (UK) pounds for it as I needed an 88 note workhorse. The MDF end cheeks have taken a few knocks in their time & It was reasonably priced due to those circumstances.

Now...

After spending all weekend trying to de-gunk the thing & using various techniques to try & clean to no avail, I came here looking for the answer.

After finding a comment by "billbaker" on the Mr. Clean magic eraser sponge I headed out to my nearest Wilkinsons (UK) to pick one up. (Dokter Power Magic Eraser)

Within half an hour, the barely moist sponge has transformed the old beast into a damn fine looking specimen with very little effort. Scratches mostly removed/less obvious....gleeming paintwork & No gaffa tape residue to be seen. I cannot recommend this highly enough!!!

For about £5 for a foot long block (of which I've used very little) it's well worth the money & little effort involved to transform your grimey Triton back to good condition.

It may be a forum well known fact (I haven't been here that long) but well worth a shout out to those like me who have tried all methods of cleaning to spruce it's finish up a little.

A new paint job/Skin now not required!!

No worries mate...I'm over the moon really it's cleaned up as well as it has so thanks hugely for the tip! The Mrs. seems a convert too after spending a few minutes this afternoon cleaning the hob! Fantastic stuff.
