Hidden feature and solution for polyphony problems in Combis

can someone explain what the key zones... thru inside zone. all that stuff means...
I can follow and do exactly what these guys are doing, but if someone could explain the concept or what each thing does (that is being changed in the video) it would make quite a bit more sense to people that look at the video/follow the tutorial.

Very nice video! Mike has done it on oasys, i didn't know that there is a video! In http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=62564 it was hot discussed and people did mistakes by this procedure so i think i do a logical list what you have to do.
Like i said much times before, initially it should help to reduce polyphony problems in combi mode. The fact is that every timbre that is on global channel eats polyphony, if volume is 0 or the mute button is pressed. Sounds like double screamer could drop out many notes. This procedure rout only midi to that timre you need at one moment, that's it basically.

The trick is very simple, when you activate karma from that moment on it's an instance between the keyboard and the engine. Now midi notes are going thru karma, but without any modulation (that's what happend when you swtich "Run A" off) cause karma is building no additional notes.
To choose key zones means you allow a karma scene to manage your notes, thru inside zone means the whole zone without changes (you also could karma let octave). The last steps only assign that functions to the scene button you want for
