Was reading through some old threads about the tactile buttons on the Oasys failing, and possible solutions. Forum member Akos Janca apparently successfully replaced his switches himself and created a PDF file documenting the procedure. However, it appears his site is under construction and the only other direct link to the PDF also appears to be invalid.
As my Oasys' "0" and "7" buttons appear to be nearing the end of their life cycle (I have to press about 2x as hard as all of the others to get them to respond), I was wondering if Akos (if he still comes around) or any other forum members have a copy of this documentation. My skill set for these things is about the level of "open it up and blow out the dust" but I'd like to see what's involved in replacing the switches (or at least accessing them to clean them as per Dan's suggestion in the old thread), before going the "authorized service center" route. Previous dealings with service techs local to me have been less than confidence-inspiring -- not sure I'd trust them with the Oasys and not sure I'm willing to relinquish it for any extended period.
If anyone has the info, I'd certainly be most appreciative!

I have replaced many bad switches (once, at the same time). The other switches are still working well, so I think it was a quality problem.
An experienced good technician can do it. But now I would try to clean the switches first, using standard electrical contact cleaner, as Dan suggested here and here. It might help and much easier than to replace. Unfortunately, for this cleaning the OASYS must be disassembled in the same way.

Dear Akos, awsome documentation. One question (I´m not really technically skilled): Is there no way of using the cleaner without diassembling the Oasys? I feel that some of my swiches starting to make problems ... but I really would like to avoid the total opening procedure ...Akos Janca wrote: It might help and much easier than to replace. I think there is no another way. The pushbuttons cannot be removed from the frontside of the OASYS. The tactile switches are right under them, soldered on the PCB panel. There are no holes on the panel, so it's not possible to spray the cleaner from the bottom side either.
I'm afraid the only way is to remove the panel(s) containing the switches. I would spray the cleaner on all switches - not only the bad ones - while pushing them several times, then check them with a multitester before assembling the OASYS again.
