Peter Gabriel using Kronos, KARMA Kronos Software for tour

Post by StephenKay »

I was recently contacted by an engineer at Peter Gabriel's studio - they've apparently just purchased two Korg Kronos for Peter's upcoming tour and want to use the KARMA Kronos Software to program up some various effects for the tour.

Peter's music is awesome, and I was delighted to hear about this - thought you might find it interesting. ;)

Excellent news Stephen. I'm glad to see you being recognized for your outstanding work. PG is one of my favorite artists. Rumor has it PG would travel the world just to get a particular sound and the Kronos may be just a fantastic tool for him.

That's cool. I'm a big fan of Peter Gabriel, too. Seen him a number of times in concert.

This is a pretty cool TV documentary of the making of Security.

I think someone should tell him about the great CP80 sound a member has just posted here, he'll be wanting a copy of that!

Thanks for that link, Steve... I'm a big PG fan too, saw him at the start of his New Blood tour at the O2 Arena in London. I think that must be one of the few documentaries about him I haven't seen!

OMG! Karma and PG... can't wait to hear the results of that! Got my tickets too, in September. I really liked what he did with his songs with an orchestra. I almost like it better than the originals. John Metcalfe is one crazy talented musician/arranger. But it will be great to see PG with a band again.

And thanks Steve for that YT link. Security is, imo, the best work of PG.

Did anyone see him when he was on the bill for The Stranglers notorious gig in Battersea Park 1978?

I remember him doing a song (can't remember which one) and during the instrumental part, every member of the band played every instrument. They were literally running around the stage replacing each other.

I'm sure (and hope) I didn't dream this.
Korg Kronos 88 (soon to be replacing a.... ) Yamaha CP33. Korg Trinity Pro (dodgy disk drive). Octave Cat (bought in 1979). Hohner Melodica with a contact mic glued to it (very noisy). Omnisphere (love to be able to use this live). http://www.aonemicstand.co.uk
