Post by gorkymate »

Some samples needed, does any body have some samples from M1, T3 or D-50 in Korg format, looking for M1 Piano, OK Chorale, M1 Trumpet, Spanish Guitar....etc?

I know only of some M1 pack in Korg M3 format http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15567

Don't know what Korg format you need them exactly, maybe that could help.

You cannot be too picky when it comes to having default patches on other instruments. Sounds like you need the samples themselves, but If you want the actual sound as close as possible Maybe Korg's legacy collection software would work, could be hard to get though as they stopped doing them why I don't know. I had my chance and missed the train :( Korg T3ex, T2 etc got such emmense warmth hard to reproduce, even on the Trinity etc.

Korg Legacy Collection is still available.

M1 is covered and includes all Korg-released PCM samples as well as stock.

T-series is not covered, but never was.

D-50 is a roland product - raw samples would not be useful without an LA (linear analog) based synthesis model to use them. There may be "sounds of the..." sample sets or reason refills available on eBay and such that feature full/finished patches, but 3rd party sound quality is spotty at best. Roland itself hasn't done any releases that I'm aware of.

I wouldn't mind seeing soft synth versions of legacy synths from Yamaha or Roland, but I think that the KLC represents the greatest variety of synthesis methods of the big 3. You have to go way back in the Yamaha and Roland lines to find truly different engines (how far back does motif go?) but they are there.

I think the "M1" covers T range perfectly on the card section it's named "T1 Card" and ranges 11 cards (the tab right of the M1 cards).

I think those cards represent actual T series extras compared to M series.(totally little over 300 patches). I could be misstaken but I've played so much with T3ex and later also with Korg Legacy Digital plugin and I don't recall to miss a single patch or combination there.

Tiny nitpick - LA synthesis is not Linear Analog but Linear Arithmetic, the latter referring to the sound being the sum of different and distinct parts.

Sander,

Gonna have to hire a research department and fact checkers.

LA was, yes, Arithmetic - the initial attack transient plus sustain wave equals completed sound.

I've used the concept in Triton combis by putting a short percussive sound like glock or xylophone in front of organ sounds to give a more punchy attack for jazz comping.
