Strange sampling problem

Hi there,

I'm trying to make a commodore 64 bank of sounds by using samples.

When the multisamples are ready I create a program. So far so good.

But when I save the multisample data, all references are lost to the multisample from the programs (and also the drum kits, which is a lot of work lost)

In the osc you see that the reference is red to the multisample. It tries to reference to a sample on the SSD which seems to fail.

When I select the sample from memory again it works. Did I stumble upon a bug?

And I like to add: the Kronos just hanged again. When playing with the newly created programs based on samples, I switched to combi and the Kronos froze (screen and controls)

I still heard the combi playing, and I could change the tempo, but the interface didn't respond anymore.

I found out that it's possible to remap the multisamples for an entire bank.
This helped me to restore all the programs.

(doesn't mean that the problem will come back)

I just ran across this late last week, and we tracked it down to a change which had crept in just a few weeks before we shipped 2.0.2. The issue is:

1. Load an existing KSC into Sampling Mode, OR create some samples in Sampling Mode and save them as a KSC
2. Save the KSC again to the same location, over-writing the file from step 1
==> Sampling Mode ID is reset, which means that any Programs etc. which used the KSC need to be remapped
The same thing will happen if you delete the KSC from disk before re-saving.

We'll try to address this soon. In the meantime, the work-around is to save to a different location or with a different name, instead of over-writing the previous KSC.

Thanks for your answer. Indeed it seems to be happening when I overwrite the sample data. I do this because I've set this KSC file to autoload in the global.

Great that you've found the cause of this.

The hanging of the Kronos problem is hard to reproduce but it happened 2 times in about 2 hours. Hopefully we'll find the cause of this too.

Steps I did was:
- Loading samples into memory (wav)
- make multisamples
- making drum kits in global
- back to sampler: convert multisample to program
- go to program and play
- switch to combi -> hangs
