velocity changes on emx recorded??

Post by souldjir809 »

hi guys... just a quick question...
i am thinking to get myself a midi keyboard and stick it into my emx.
that way its alot easier for me to play some basslines and get ideas faster...

but, before i do that, i would just like to know... is emx going to record how hard i press the keys?? or will i have to adjust it later for each note in step edit??

thanks...
i have a dirty signature, it would be censored anyway.

Nope, it receives velocity (so when you play live, you can hear the differing velocity levels) but doesn't record it in the sequencer, you have to alter the level :(.

Such a simple thing to leave out, if they ever create an EMX2 (or just new firmware for the old box), that's top of the list :P

also an adsr envelope, better reverb and some more oscilators :) and it could be easily polyphonic :)

I have very seriously thought about attempting to mod one into being able to sync the last four voices into one, four-voice poly synth. This would allow one synth for a bassline.

Electribulator does this for you, see that thread :)

A firmware update would be nice though.

If Korg were going to release a firmware update they would have done so years ago, or more appropriately would have done so with the SD card version reissue.

We have to accept there will be no firmware update, i have emailed them to ask and was told they do not see this in the foreseeable future. Why would they release a firmware update now when it will use development time and make them not a single penny? In fact it will cost them money.

As for a new electribe altogether, well Im sure we would all buy one right away, but unfortunately Im doubtful about the release of one at all. When they did the big live announcement thing back at the start of this month I had my fingers crossed it was a new electribe, and look what it turned out to be lol.
