Korg SV1 amp/Drive issue

Post by Soulfreeek »

Hi all,
I've encountered a problem with my SV1, it's quite long winded so bear with me.

Since loading some of the sound pack 2 organ sounds I've noticed that that when i switch on the drive it is far TOO harsh, & even on the lowest setting it's unusable in a live situation.
However, if I choose my organ sound switch amp models BEFORE I turn on the drive and THEN engage the drive it is a far more useable volume.

It's very weird & at first I presumed I had set my drive parameters too high in the editor when setting my presets ( which still may be the case ) but I'm confused as to why the drive volume fluctuates after switching amp models.
Eg organ amp on 1 = too loud
Switch amp then return to organ amp = far more suitable/usable sweep thru the drive parameter.

Anyone else have similar issues?

This is a long known problem. Korg will not fix it.

Play with the amp volume in the editor.
“So, how many sounds does my SV1 make? Both of them.”

Yeah. When I first got the SV-1 the organ volumes were staggeringly higher than the others. Really, since I used the organ more like a rhythm/background instrument in the group I was in, I lowered its volume with the editor. No more startlingly loud bursts of sounds when I cycle through them now.
