what a shame this OS upgrade... almost nothing on it!
hi all korg users ,
i feel really disapointed about this OS upgrade..... almost nothing..
Does some one already triyed it ? any new sounds or only tweaks ?
I would love to see KORG making 2 things:
** Pa3x starting faster ! what a hell is the battery for ??? it doesnt almos make difference!
** and using PAD Buttons or EC-5 buttons to trigger song markers and leave the screen for lyrics or sounds !
Both are a must have for anyone who plays live ,. we deserve more than this little OS upgrade.
Cheers

Hmmmmm.....
Does it work exactly as per manual and specs - YES
Does it now have more than as per manual and specs - YES
Pretty darn good in my book....
But, as they say, "everyone to his own".

as always
I for one would like to be able to change the voice preset for the voice with a foot controller or EC5 - Assignable Multi-Switch Controller,, and I did say TC-Helicon presets that are not preset set... you still have to turn the control knobs .. if i set the vol or reverb and say save it .. no ,,, I still have to turn the knobs to make it works .. this in not a preset.. just like the song book ,, you make what you want and save it ,, it come back the same way ,,, no so for the tc helicon presets .. booooo ..
so fix it korg ,,
so fix it korg ,,

OoOoOoOoOoOPs so my problem solved.

I guess you must have the ear of someone much higher up DonDonM wrote:One of the things I asked for is there--the ability to load a text file, then change styles and not UNLOAD the text file unless you select a Songbook entry. This is important to me!

But I am please that at least one of us got what they needed

I still think being able to save a recorded CS was also an easy (relatively) task, but Korg totally ignored it

ok just tell me one thing !
when the os release time was delayed for the second time, it was announced that it was due to the fact that :
During the development of the new system we had the opportunity to do some minor improvements, and to add some new features that we think will improve the general experience of playing with Pa3X even more!
so they said that the development time would be longer. we know that new musical resources were already done long time before because the german forum guys had already told us about tha and they were already finalized. so that leaves us the bugs and the NEW FUNCTIONS. a look at the new functions in the manual revels :
1- Improved reading of Lyrics as TXT files.
2- Octave Transpose on Harmony.
So im WONDERING what are the NEW FEATURES that were promised and were so time consuming to put in new os that lead to the delay in release time? JUST THESE 2 ? I was looking at the os updates of pa800 form 1.1 to 1.6 and it had so many new features and all of them were really useful and major updates ! Now compare it to the update of 1.1 to 1.5 of pa3x ! As other people mentioned it here : ALMOST NOTHING.
and PETE my friend ! For Gods sake dont say that they are doing us a favor and they dont owe us anything !
Of course they do, If you want i will tell you in another post why i believe so. Finally i want to say that , im greatful like others that korg DID actually released a new update and i certainly dont want to sound ungreatful but i think pa3x users deserve better than this and if korg team was out of new ideas to add to the os they could have used the wishlist here and a AT LEAST use a few of them (EVEN TWO WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE) some of them were very easy and very tiny improvements for korg to implement but hugely useful for users. but now when we look at the 1.5 specs ....... !

Hi Shahin
I respect your views and your right to complain so please understand that none of the below is directed specifically to you but I just want to make some points...
I get pathetically accused of sucking up to Korg and always shouting their praises - WHY?
I just happen to be extremely satisfied with this outstanding product with which I can produce the most amazing sounds and grooves etc..etc..
It is by far the best arranger keyboard supported by a team of guys who, without obligation, have added many new out-of-spec features since the days of the i3.
I can tell you honestly, that if Yamaha or Roland or Ketron produced a better arranger, I would not hesitate to buy it (except I would research and consider the difference in those vendors' support).
I can always be loyal to great, well manufactured and supported products. The PA3X serves my musical needs way beyond my goals.
I cannot understand some people's logic (or lack of) when it comes to crazy expectations. If you buy a new car, why would you expect the manufacturer to provide new features FREE?
Some responses have been "....we pay a lot of money for these keyboards and therefore should be entitled to more..." - what a load of rubbish - I can't imagine ANY manufacturer of any product responding to that - simply, if it is too expensive for what you get, go get something else....
Can you imagine how the Korg team react to all this negative garbage. They have worked extremely hard to successfully smooth out problems and produce some great new features. The complexity in modifying an OS in any way, is huge (I know this first hand). Delays in release dates are the nature of IT - you constantly face the untested scenarios of which (if Korg tested every conceivable thing), there are millions.
So, in my book, Korg owe me nothing.
Do I have a wish list - of course I do.
Are there some things I would like changed - of course there are.
But the last thing I am prepared to do is instantly whinge to the Korg Italy Team as soon as they release an update which, in my opinion, is excellent.
Cheers
Pete

Dear Pete i completely agree with all the things you said without any exception.
Of course we are all in a same ship here and we all want one thing : Korg grow more and more in arranger and synth department ( and every other musical instrument) and make better synth and more importantly STAY ON TOP AS IT IS RIGHT NOW . Our questions and complains and criticizms are headed toward this goal only and nothing else. This would be a mutual benefit between korg and its users.
Here are some of my comments :
3 bugs were addressed in new os , One being the long loading time problem. This must not have existed in first place but anyway if the function is faulty, OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO ADDRESS IT ASAP AND ITS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY SO THEY OWE US BIG TIME. second bug was master transpose applied to chord sequencer. THIS AGAIN should have been thought by korg team so i can call it a negligence rather than bug but in any case THEY HAD TO CORRECT IT AND WE DONT OWE THEM. The same thig goes for third bug. There were more serious reported bugs that could be addressed but korg i think WANTED TO ADDRESS BUT COULD NOT because they couldnt reproduce them . A real criticizing calls for a real suggestion too so hear i suggest to implement a DEBUGGING function in the os so in the time of crash, users can send the debug files to korg for easier and faster bug addressing.
Any way back to my previous post i wanted to know what exactly was the new function(s) that korg claimed to delay the os for? Maybe it was an excuse for delay time after all? can anyone point it for me?
