After upgrade to kronos os 2.0.2 i tryed to import sf2 file with mostly not much success , for the assignment of multisamples /keyzones does not match properly.
It is strange for most users seem to have no problems with this.
I.e. I downloaded for testpurpose the followoing sf2 file: (http://soundfonts.homemusician.net/pian ... tuned.html)
I imported it into my softsampler (Vsampler)..this works fine - all 12? instruments and keyzones where right assigned
After that i imported this sf2 into the kronos, and there where 25 programms...and just a few seemed to work like it should be.
Then i deleted inside the VSsampler all Instruments of the sf2 mentioned above except the first and exported it to a new sf2.
This sf2 imported to kronos worked fine...just 1 Programm like ist should be.
Same thing with a Test sf2 exported out of my VSampler (1 Instrument containing 10 monosamples and 5 keyzones)..imported to Kronos...result was 3 Programs and not right matched Multisamples..
Imported the same sf into the vsampler..everything is fine.
Can someone help me or test it with the same sf2?
How should a optimal sf2 look like to get imported without problems into the Kronos (number of instruments in bank, name of samples, mono or stereo..??)?
problems with SF2 import

Hi TiGroove.
This file is very poorly put together and mistakes have even been made.
I'm looking at this Bank file on my PC here and I can see straight away why it's generating more insturments than your seeing in V-Sampler.
The KRONOS has 2 OSC's per sound, but some of these single sounds inside the bank file require more than 2 OSC's because of how the file was assembled. I can even see one that needs 7 OSC's simply because of how the wavefiles are panned.
When you load a single sound that uses more than 2 OSC's, the KRONOS will spread the different OSC's over different PROG sounds. It will then create a COMBI sound and try assemble everything so that you have one single COMBI sound that performs.
So that's why you are seeing extra sounds when you load this.
The tuning issues are also down to sloppy work. Same names occupying the same space.
Regards
Sharp.

Hi Sharp,
thanks for your reply and explanation!!
Now I understand the issue a bit more.
So if there are more than just 100% left/right panning it requires more than 2 OSC.
And I always wondered why kronos asks for a combi to assign to...now i got is...he trys to recreate the sound using some programs within 1 Combi.
So next will be to find out why he doesn't can assign my own test SF2 with 10 monosamples and 5 Keyzones...therefore the 2 OSC's should be enough.
Korg Support also wrote me, that in their experience SF2-Files with monosamples works better inside Kronos than some with stereosamples.
Can you confirm this?
Thanks
