Kontrol49 Mac OS X Lion compatibility

Post by The LT »

Hello there forum,

Has anyone had any success with Kontrol49 Editor Librarian under Mac OS X 10.7 Lion?

It's a Rosetta application, I know, but is Korg going to fix that issue somehow? I've looked on all korg websites, including the japanese one, but didn't find any updates whatsoever!

This particular part of the forum seems to have been set to full ignore by the moderators. Apparently the low end gear is there merely to generate income so that they can continue to support the high end gear (Triton and the like). If not, then maybe raising a stink will get us some attention.

I'd be happy to blog this to everyone I know.

I am actually curious, the Kontrol49 seemed to be quite a common controller back in the day, I actually own a Radias and support has been provided for the Universal Binary from Korg.

The controller itself works fine with Logic control surface mode, but is useless in Lion. I am afraid it won't ever be fixed... :(

Thanks for your reply, though, hueseph!

FYI, getting an answer has nothing to do with the moderators.
This is an independent forum and we aren't here to answer your questions - moderators are here to keep the place tidy, organised, and keep the peace.

If you want a. Official answer to your questions, then you should probably go and ask Korg. But as they don't announce future plans I don't know how far you will get - but equally you're more likely to get a reliable answer direct from them than 2nd and 3rd hand rumours and wishful thinking from users.

K49 is a relatively old product now, I don't know if it is officially still supported. But also Lion is quite new so there may be an update in the works. Unfortunately music tech is a relatively tight business these days and I don't think you'll see updates for an end-of-life product as it won't impact sales much.

Thanks for the reply, X-Trade,

It seems that Korg pulled the plug on Kontrol49...
