Korg is give us 100,000,000,000,000,000 of styles ,, and the number of styles might be more that this , it hard to tell ... as I go look at each style , from the i3 on up ,, korg just ,, changes the beging of a styles and and renames it . mostly just rename it ,,, as i look at the Musikant styles and the international styles , korg has not did much to them ,, just look at the international styles call ,,slow latin pop , its nice so why change the name and call it door's pop ,, on the musikant ,,by change the name to Door's PoP ,, WOW ,, I think korg think we are stupid ,, what els can it be ,, think about it ,, I ran out a got the new pa3x and what did it get ,, the old screen size , and 20 or 30 new samples , a new VoiceLive2 again (derived) that has delay and never get in tune , and never turn off all the way , and korg has the new Enhanced sound compatibility for GM songs and look at the gm list , its not there ... a GM set has 128 sounds in it .. not 4 or 7 . . yes you can fine all the strings you want , just keep hunting for them .now korg has some nice thing to ,, and its like magic , but the basic are weak ,, the pa3x is just a baby step up .. from the pa2x,,, the best korg had was the pa1x this was good , and the rest are knock off , i look at the roland e80 , its like the pa1x , and the roland had a guitar mode you could play live ,,and the roland bk5 is very nice to ,, and the yamaha psr s950 and the all the stuff the pa3 has or close to it ,, and again half the price , well for all the we all spent on the pa3x , will korg step and give us something more , or just baby update ,,

a new VoiceLive2 again (derived) that has delay and never get in tune , and never turn off all the way
Do you mean that the realtime process introduces (intolerable) latency and the resulting harmonies are out of tune?
I ask this, because I ordered a pa3x and it will be delivered by the end
of the week. Looking at (and listening to) the Tom Lang demo of the integrated TC Helicon I don't have the impression that there's something wrong with it.
How many ms are you talking about?
Thanks for any information.

Hey duby2, I ask this with the greatest of respect - do you really have the right keyboard for your needs?

pa3x it king

Post by duby2 »

Yes ,, I got the right keyboard ,, and i do love it ,,and wango ,, you will love the pa3x .and there is nothing wrong with it ,, looking at and listening to the tom lang demo of the tchelicon , he did a great job ,,, now what he did is a great job of selling that part of the keyboard,, , I should say that if you pick just the tc helicon harmonies , it should be 100% working right ,, its not its 95% , tuneing ,delay , and more , and the same goes with the rest of the keyboard ,, guitar mode 2 , great also . but it stop short again 95% , you can not use it live , as in the roland keyboards, and more , the roland keyboard let you blend styles together , so you can make new styles your self and they sound good ,and the list go on ,,, so if a payed $1000.00 us dollars for the pa3x , i would say it is the best in the world , but i did not ,, i pay . like most people here ,, $3600.00 or more for the keyboard ,, we all should get 99% out of the keyboard ,, so if korg clean up the little thing on the keyboard as i said it 95% and it should be 99.9 % ,,, so go and buy it , it a great board , and Misery loves company ... and to Pete and with great respect , I like the coment, and you might be right, :)

What Roland keyboard do you mean exactly? From Roland I listened to
the BK7m demo and I thought it sounded cheep and "plastic".

And Pete, thanks for your answer. I'm afraid there will be some kind of latency but apparently not too noticeable. It will be the first thing to be
checked when the unit arrives.

Hi there,

sorry duby2 but have to disagree about styles.
I had iS40, Pa1X and Pa3X and cannot say that Pa3X has the same i3 styles and only name and begin (I understand you mean intro) changed.

This is absolutely untrue, when I got my new Pa3X I found a lot of new styles and for sure the over 450 styles available in this model cannot compare in regard of quality and quantity with i3 (they were ca. 48 in total) that I played several times. It is a completely different word IMHO. Consider that only the last v.1.50 update include 24 completely new (you can check yourself - never found before ...) that's pratically half of the whole i3 memory.

Also regarding the name change: you are comparing a german version that changed not only style names but also sound/performance/genre name to better suit its market. So maybe organ is there orgel and latin is latein but this is normal: they are not renaming just to mask anything they are renaming just because their are talking in german like also the silkscreen does.

Nothing again your post, but this is my honest opinion.

Cheers.

Yep - so true - I have over 1100 styles installed (95% of them are Korg's - all different)

If you really need more than that then I think you more likely need a MIDI-file player and NOT an arranger keyboard. If styles are needed as authentic backings to specific songs then they are not "styles" - should be called "song-accompaniments"

quiet storm

Post by duby2 »

well korg has over 1000 styles , and they cover everthing from rock to jazz and pop .and so on so why do we ask and need more styles from korg we have it all now , , and the keyboard work 100% now , we do not need any more update. it does everthing that inside the manuals ..so update are just to fix what in the manuals ,, that all .. not new stuff,,, i stand corrected,,, i should not ask for more ,, just give me less...
wango just buy it ,, it a great keyboard ,and do not be afraid there will be some kind of latency but apparently not too noticeable,,, this is what i am talking about ,, why do we have to put up with this ,,, oh it not too noticeable ,, for a casio keyboard ok casio cost $100.00 ,, i unstand that .. but this is the king of keyboards ,, so 95% is wrong,, and again

IMOP .. and I like it pete .. Just ruffling feathers ... LOL
it has been a quiet storm...

ok

Post by duby2 »

untill korg come out with the best (( Karma )) to generate style on the spot, inside the pa keyboard it will be the same old same old in styles ,yes nice new begining and the same old fox trot in the middle and change the piano sound to a organ .. oh look it new ,, and yes the korg styles are great , but Karma kick A** over the styles.. and thank you Stephen Kay President of Karma Lab.. now korg get together with stephen Kay and put the Karma style generator in the pa,,keyboard,so if you pick jazz swing ,and press start , a new jazz swing come each time , knot the same style from i3 ,, and the i3 did have great style in and i still use them ,, but korg is stagnant ,, now .. who can say what big inprovement do we have now ,,over the pa2x ,, little faster screen ,, ok 5% over the last keyboard.. WOW .. at this rate i will need to live to 472 year old to get what we should have now ..
again
IMOP
maybe i an ask for to much ,, or are we going back to Basaristudios ,that i love . first keyboard ,, what was the year ,, oh that right circa 23B.B
let go back to kissing feet ... :?

and were is the pa keyboard editor that allow you to edit the Set List, performance, Program, Wave Sequence, Drum, and Global settings , move style around and more .. like the lower keyboard have ,, oh that right i pay to much for my keyboard to have it .. are you getting what you pay for ,,, most of you say yes , is what it look like...

I would expect Korg to put atleast 50 asian/ethinic styles on thier arranger.
Western friends got 1000s of styles atleast to startup with.

Why don't korg put some styles with ethnic/asian instruments and rhythm on international version. There isn't even one when i was trying to start with 7/8 rhythm.

I think they should call it US/Euro Version not international.
