Setting up the A1
Hi, have just bought a Korg A1 and a Voodoo Lab Ground Controller, midi floor controller. I want to control my A1 and Engl Screamer 50 guitar amp with the midi controller but hav'nt got a clue how to do it! The amp has two footswitch jacks on the back that the manual says are to be used when hooking up to a midi controller, they are normal guitar jacks but are stereo. Should I be running my amp into the A1 and then to the midi controller or running the amp and A1 seperately to the controller? Can anyone help this poor, midi ignorant guitar player!

For controlling multiple items in a guitar rig via midi you need midi "in" and "thru" connectors. From the foot controller you go from the "out" to the "in" of the first item in the chain. The next ones then go from the "thru" to the "in" of the next and so on through the chain.
You will need the A1 manual for the midi implementation chart so you know what syntax to use to control the changes/parameters you want.

Oh and as far as signal routing, you'll want to put the A1 in the amps effects loop.
Running the A1 before the amp won't work because your gain channels will be distorting all the effects, running after won't work because the output will be too hot - for powering speakers not line level for effect processors.
If you midi controller has the right outputs you can control channel switching and maybe effects loop on and off with it. It does this via regular cables instead of midi since it's using the midi controller to act as a pedal switcher. So you will be running midi to the A1 and cables to your amp to control the channel switching functions.
