My take on Korg Kronos Third Rendez-Vous (Laser Harp) -AL-1

Post by BasariStudios »

Any thoughts?...this is AL-1 only and no FX or Samples, except Delay and Reverb.
I think i got pretty close, not just close enough...

Great sound. I can see JMJ in my mind's eye. I have last seen him live a year ago. Your laser harp is very close to the original.

When do you think your Kronos sounds are available for sale? Will the laser harp be included in one of your sound packages?

That's a very good recreation of the sound - nice work. I think you could make it a little closer, by lowering the amplitude of the filter sweep that sounds on the attack, and by boosting the low / low-mids in the main body of the sound a little. This would make it sound more 'solid'.

You may of course get the same result through the application of compression as well.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Guys,

Eddy, i am kinda still working on it and i will check your input too.
Cobi, i dont know yet, this will be a Bank of electronic Analogish
Sounds made in AL-1, MS-20, MOD-7 and PolySix of around 48 Sounds.
I am in the process of thinking if i should include KARMA or not, its a
longer process since i dont like twisting existing KARMA GEs, i like real
programming them from scratch as per Sound or Combi.
Here is some:

I actually considered following this:

But my wife thinks it's too dangerous and nerdy :)
Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61
2011 gig setup: Korg Kronos 88

Too dangerous? Perhaps.
Too nerdy? No such thing.
Last winter I built a "micro-LED-harp" just to see if it worked, the kids loved it! :)
