Just a heads up to let you know Chickensys will be releasing Translator/Constructor/Instrument Manager with support for Kronos within the next few weeks.

From KVR, 31st August 2012:
Chicken System has announced forthcoming Korg Kronos support in its products with features including streaming of samples, and additionally the release of four new "Creator" products in September 2012: Korg Creator, Kurzweil Creator, Fusion Creator, and Fantom Creator.

Korg Creator allows creation and editing of all sampled Korg PCG files; supporting the Kronos, M3 Series, and Triton series.

The Creator Series uses the same interface as the Motif Creator but custom fitted for these different bank formats. All Creator products allow simple but powerful creation and editing of sampled sounds, making it much easier to include full sampled multi-instruments in your hardware workstation.
Promising. Awaiting release and reviews.

I'm not familiar with Chicken Sys. (what a name!) -- do people on this forum think their software is of good quality? and reliable? I just took a quick look at their website and am hopeful...

It's nice to have the additional option.
But since Sf2 imports works well with the new Kronos OS, anyone can already perfectly well use Extreme Sample Converter, export to sf2 and import that into the Kronos.

In the end we will have three tools for easy resampling:
- Extreme Sample Converter (the by far most convenient converter, especially for VSTi import)
- Sample Robot (they are just working on Kronos export for their coming version: they offer the best tool for auto-looping and automatic crossfading from my view)
- Chickensys Translator

And everybody can use whatever fits your purpose (and your wallet) best.
Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5

And fits your OS best - isn't Extreme Sample Converter PC only?

Judging by the price of Motif Creator, the Kronos version should work out at around £50 ($80). Being a Mac user, this is great news as I have quite a large Kontakt/ESX library to convert.

Hoping for more info/demo soon.

Hi all,
The following has been extracted from a mail I received from them recently (11/13):

Image
The world is enraptured with software, with good reason, but hardware is far from being counted out. The new Korg Kronos 2.0 operating system allows for great sample-playback - even streaming form their internal SSD drives! This allows lightning-quick loading of huge files.

Translator™ - plus the whole line of Chicken Systems products, such as Constructor™ and Instrument Manager™ - are just about ready for inclusion of this format. Look for it in the coming weeks.

But that's not all - the new Korg Creator™ program will support this allow full-scale management and building of these files. Working of the same framework as the hugely popular Motif Creator™, this looks solid!

Image
So wait and see !
May be it could be interesting to have the manual of those applications.
To see what could be really achieved with them ! If anybody has info !

Cheers :D

There's quite a bit of info (and a free demo) for the Motif Creator @ Chicken Sys, I would presume that the Kronos version is very similar.

http://www.chickensys.com/downloads/motifcreator.php

I'm hoping that there'll be a Translator Special Edition for the Kronos (they do one for Triton)... fingers crossed.

Quite excited about this :D

I have been a Chicken Systems customer for probably 8 years now and the one thing I have learned is to NEVER trust their delivery dates.

Given the announcement I am confident Chicken Systems will eventually provide Kronos support, but I would not be surprised at all if their "next few weeks" promise is not met.

Unfortunately, Martin is right. I've been a customer since 1998 and I can also say that Garth's notion of the adverb "timely" varies greatly from the rest of us, to use a euphemism.
