Korg SP-250 - add an input??

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a SP-250 Piano which I very much liked in the store. Including the built-in speakers are not too bad.
BUT: Thereis no way to add e.g., a mp3 player or so to playbacke.g., drumtracks...

SO I wonder if it would be feasible to mod/add a e.g., 3.5mm input connector.

Obviously, one would have to open the case, drill a hole etc., so not counting on warrranty, but would be willing to add this functionality, but would need to find the good spots to solder it on etc.


Too bad they laft this out of the instrument

It's so much easier to do that with a cheap 2 or 4 channel mixer (under $50) that I can't see breaking into the box unless you're really comfortable with messing with the electronics and have to have everything running through the on-board speakers.

Design-wise there's generally not a place to just splice in a new sound source - there's no aux input hook-up just waiting.

However, with schematics you (or a tech savvy pal) might be able to find a place to jack in a new signal. The best option might be to hijack the speaker line-in before the amp (typically a point A to B wire if the amp is not integrated onto a board with other components) send that to an out jack - to a small mixer where MP3 player could be added - and send it back via a second jack that then goes back to the amp then on to the internal speakers.

It would mean installing two jacks rather than one with perhaps a bypass jumper so you could use speakers normally, but would allow you to use the internal speakers with additional signals mixed in - including MP3, drum machine or microphone.

I realize this thread is 5 years old, but I'm interested in doing this myself.

I'd like to take one of the headphone jacks, and convert it to an input jack to plug my Kross 61 in and have the sound come out of the sp250 speakers, and also run one set of cables to an amp or mixer.

I do have a pretty good tech guy who I would get to do the work, but before I bug him about it, does anyone know if this is reasonably easy or feasible?
