"Reincarnated" - new set of KARMA-Lab combis!

Post by StephenKay »

Reincarnated has now been released, for the Korg Kronos!

Karma-Lab has released "Reincarnated - Groove Nirvana" ($32), an exciting new set of
32 KARMA-fied combis for the Korg Kronos and Korg OASYS. The Kronos version can be
loaded directly into the Kronos, or used with the optional KARMA Kronos software.
Programmed by Scott Raposa and KARMA Developer Stephen Kay, the set represents
hundreds of hours of work over the last year, yet is reasonably priced at only $1 per combi.

Each combi is composed of a full 4 KARMA Modules and 8 fully-voiced scenes for maximum
variability, featuring extensive real-time control via the KARMA Realtime Controls (8 sliders,
8 switches) and the other controllers (joystick, ribbon, 8 RT sliders/knobs, Vector Joystick
and 2 switches over joystick). In addition, the Kronos's Drum Track has been programmed
to add an additional complimentary percussion or drum element in every combi.

Each combi is fully and meticulously documented in the accompanying 71 page User’s Guide,
which is loaded with tips on how to get the most out of each KARMA Performance The set
includes grooves and sonic textures in a wide variety of styles, ranging from a mixture of
Hip-Hop, Dance, Electronica, Trance & Techno categories to Ambient, Jazz, New-Age &
World/Ethnic categories.

"Reincarnated" is our second set of KARMA-fied combis, joining the extremely popular
Catalyst Volume 1 - another great set you might consider if you don't already have it.

Note: if you're new to Korg and the Kronos, you may not be aware that Karma-Lab is
KARMA Developer Stephen Kay's company. As the inventor of KARMA, nobody programs
KARMA to the degree that we do. If you want big, bold, full, robust KARMA combis with
inspiring and intricate parts that have 8 full scenes of completely different variations, each
capable of driving the creation of new song ideas, then this is the set for you.

Note: Reincarnated is "inspired by" some of the 64 Reincarnation Volume 1 combis for
the original Karma Workstation and KARMA Triton software - hence the name "Reincarnated".
We say "inspired by" because not all of the GEs in the original Karma are available in the
Kronos version, and even the ones that are perform differently since the Kronos version is
KARMA v2 (with 8 scenes and 5 control layers, and new features like Note Maps, KARMA
Wave-Sequencing and others), and the earlier products were KARMA v1 (2 scenes and one
control layer). Not to mention the programs available in the Kronos are completely different,
as are parts of the effects architecture. Some of the combis are completely new, while others
bear some varying degrees of resemblance to the originals they are based on. All of them
will prove extremely entertaining and useful in creating song structures in various styles.
If you once had a Karma Workstation or KARMA Triton with Reincarnation Volume 1, you
will find some old friends and make some completely new ones!

More info, including the combi list, audio demos, video demo and the extensive User's Guide:

Reincarnated Page

[Watch the video!] (Karma-Lab Media Player - Flash)
[Watch the video!] (YouTube - alternate link)

While the audio and video demos are performed on the Korg M3, rest assured that the
functionality is identical on the Kronos, and of course it sounds even better.

More demos may be posted in the future. For those of you who don't require demos to
know you want it, Reincarnated can be ordered from the Karma-Lab Store for $32
- that's $1 per combi - where else can you get about two days worth of work (on each
combi) from professional KARMA/Korg programmers for a dollar? :)

Buy Reincarnated

Enjoy! :soundsgood

Thanks!

Actually, Paul once delivered to me 32 Combis from Chemistry 1 redone for KARMA v2 and the M3, I just haven't been able to release them yet. Eventually, these should make their way to the Kronos and OASYS. :)

If you install Puffin Browser on your ipad, it works. They have a free version with a 2 week trial of the flash support. I bought the full version since it works great for me.

Bought the Reincarnated package. Some really inspiring sounds and karma as you would expect from Karma-lab.

Spent a pleasant hour or two listening (yet again) to Stephen's audio and video demos for all the various sound sets. Highly recommend that to all new Kronos owners.

Hi, the video is also available on YouTube:

I'm finally getting an iPad myself next few weeks, I'm going to start thinking about how to upgrade the site to get rid of Flash.

When I see a new Karma lab set is
available I order, no question asked,
They are the master of Karma programming and the audio output
of there combis is always perfect.
loud with no distortion.
I have a set of favourite in bank user
A in my Kronos and I saved a combis
from Reincarnated just after a combi
from sound of planet and I was amazed by the difference in the sound quality. (only QR comes close to those guys )

Good work Stephen

You're referring to the Catalyst set for OASYS, we didn't have any others until now.

Unfortunately, that's correct. A set for the OASYS doesn't load into the Kronos and sound correct, due to all the changes Korg made. It takes me much time to convert one format to the other, it's truly not simple.

Anyway, now Reincarnated is available for both Kronos and OASYS, as is Catalyst. ;)
