Control the volume of individual output with pedal?

Post by CaptLego »

I have a combi where most voices go to the main L/R outputs, but one is routed to individual output 1.

My pedal is set to control volume, which works fine for the L/R outputs, but doesn't affect the volume at output 1. How do I setup so the pedal also controls the volume of output1?

Route the concerning timbre through a limiter and set the source of the limiter to FX control and in global mode set the pedal to FX control (#cc12). Set gain adjust in the limiter to -inf and Amount to +45.

Downside: This would mean that you would need to put all the parts that you want to control the volume of to be routed through the limiter.

Or just switch the pedal to expression CC#11, no limiter needed.

Yes Sander, I do that all the time. That allows me to filter the expression, so I could, for instance play the the piano normally with velocity control and use the expression pedal to control strings or an organ independently. Works great. This is, of course used in Combi mode.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try setting the pedal to expression - that seems like the most straightforward approach.
