iPolysix - Undo?

Post by youngeddie »

Hello,

1. Does iPolysix has an Undo feature?

2. Also, how do you set the time (bars) for a pattern?

Thanks,

Undo and step length

Post by iPad Ninja »

1. If it does I can't find it!!

2. Use the Step Length rotary dial at the bottom of the Seq screen in the middle, you can set any length of bars up to 64 (I.e. 4x16)

It's a pity Korg don't have a developer website with a proper support email like every other IOS app, not clear why Apple let Korg release an app without one.

If you look for support it says contact the distributor in your country. I've sent a query regarding Core midi so we shall see if I get a reply.....

Undo

Post by youngeddie »

Thanks for responding to my questions.

I'll try the steps you suggested and see if I can get that to work. Too bad about the "undo" situation. I'm just learning and when I wander down the wrong road, an undo would be extremely handy.

Thanks so much!

Hi iPad Ninja,

I'm a little confused still regarding setting up the length of a bar.

I found the Step Length dial, and when I set it to "16" that equals one bar, right? I'm not able to see the "4X16" notation that you referred to.

At this point my longest pattern is 4 bars.

Have I got this right, or am I missing something? I was hoping to make some long ambient patterns that go for 8 or 16 bars before repeating.

Thanks so much,

Eddie

Bars and steps

Post by iPad Ninja »

Hi
As I see it u don't have "bars" as such, just Steps, Patterns and Songs

The seq shows up to 16 steps at a time and you can have up to 64 steps in pattern and then lots of patterns in a song

So say you wanted 2 patterns of 32 steps and 4 patterns of 16 steps you would set the Step length for first two patterns to 32 and then the Step length for the next four patterns to 16

So u would have AA BB C D E F and to make a song you could have say AACCCDDEFFBB and so on

Hope that makes sense

Yes, I'm seeing it now.

You can copy a pattern, then alter it, right? I haven't done that yet, but if seems logical.

So you could compose a long sequence from four bar phrases.

This is getting fun!!

Thanks iPad Ninja for your help!!!

Count in

Post by youngeddie »

Is there a way to get a count in? Or do you just set up a click on the drum track and wait for the sequence to come around before starting.

Sorry if that's a dumb question. That's how I'm doing it, but a count in would be very cool too.

Thanks,

Eddie
