getting CoreMIDI to work with iElectribe

Post by rictheobscene »

Hello:

I have the Korg iElectribe (latest version) running on an iPad 3 with the latest flavor of iOS 6.

I have an E-MU X-MIDI 2z2 unit connected to the iPad through the Apple Camera Connection Kit adapter. The iPad seems to be OK with this interface, as I have successfully used it with Alchemy Mobile and the rsTouch control surface app for Reason. Since I am relatively new to the iPad (and Apple) world, I don't know how useful this information is.

I would like to send MIDI to the iElectribe app from a sequencer to play / control it, and, if I am reading the online user manual correctly, I should be able to do this using the aforementioned setup.

My first question is, how to associate the iELectribe app with a set of MIDI ports on the EMU interface?

I understand the MIDI implementation chart I found in the online manual, and I think that once I associate the app with the ports, I should be golden.

I appreciate your assistance with this.

OK, I got this sorted. As long as data is sent on channel 10, the iElectribe will detect it. The EMU X MIDI 2x2 has 2 ports, and when I sent data on channel 10, it didn't matter which port I was hooked up to, the iElectribe played. That's pretty doggone slick if you ask me.
