Purgatory Creek Mark V EP
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
Finally installed this and it sounds great, love it! It replaced some of my EP1-sounds instantly, to me it feels more like a real MKV than the one in the EP engine.
Only thing I don't like about it is that the softer velicities in the upper register is pretty loud, I have problem playing pianissimo there, but I guess that's just how this particular Rhodes sounds
Great work and a sound I will use as long as I have a Kronos, big thanks!

If the tutorial doesn't get you what you need, post what you've done so far and where you're stuck.BSV73 wrote:Hi guys,

Busch - i loaded your clav samples and it worked perfectly (an awesome clav by the way! I'll test it out on the gig next weekend) I'm doing exactly the same with the Mark V but when i try to load the .PCG file a window pops up saying 'file not available'.
I've tried re-downloading, re formatting the usb stick and re loading the files multiple times but still no luck.
any ideas?
Cheers,
finally got the samples working, all i did was re install them about five times. I feel like the problem was with the kronos software which just seems buggy.
BUT the Mark V is awesome! I'll be using this and the clav on my gig next weekend!!
You are a superstar Busch.
much better that the stock EP-1 sounds.

Busch's sample libraries are simply first class.
His D6 library is one of my favorites. All the pickup settings feel just like having an original D6 under your fingers, and I know of no better virtual D6 neither from hardware synths nor from software samplers (the only two of comparable quality are the Scarbee and CFRentzen software libraries).
I wouldn't call any sampled Rhodes sounds better than EP-1 though. EP-1 is absolutely top concerning dynamics, fine tuning and variability of Rhodes sounds. The only missing thing in the EP-1 Rhodes sounds is a MK I with hotter, more agressive tine settings in the upper range, which I really miss (EP-1 only offers early suitcase and later MKII Rhodes sounds besides a MKV and no convincing 'hot' MKI stage Rhodes). In every other aspect EP-1 is just gorgeous IMO.

Not sure if I agree with you about Ep 1 Jim, it needs that herbie style rhodes for sure.
I played a gig last week through two qsc k8s and just couldn't get EP 1 to feel right all night. I feel like it is a real step down compared to the SV1 in a live setting.
Comparing it to scarbee, redtape and even logic Ep 1 just keeps disappointing me.

Thanks. Glad you got it working. YOu might look into setting up an FTP connection on your Kronos. I use that all the time and it works extremely well. I only use the USB stick when doing OS updates as that's the only option.BSV73 wrote:finally got the samples working, all i did was re install them about five times.
