Kaossilator Pro problem with Novation KS Rack?

I am having problems with my K-Pro as a controller for a Novation KS rack. On the touchpad, the bottom 4 rows produce no sound on the Novation, the 5th row from the bottom works at heightened volume and the 6th 7th and 8th rows all work as they should at a lower volume than row 5. The K-Pro works correctly accross the entire touchpad in the same configuration with other hardware synths, leading me to believe the issue is with the Novation. Any ideas from anyone?

very odd....maybe something is sending to the velocity channel of the novation? maybe only row 5 puts out a command that is in the novations range of volumes or velocities correctly?
