A couple of months ago this video confirmed the ability to load samples in the Krome...
http://vimple.ru/9b4253ad495946e389e00fa13a7b53b0
... and now we can confirm ourselves with the samples of the dealer's Korg from Peru. Some programs use Krome waveforms and other directly used the samples load in the RAM through the SD card.
Now it would be interesting to know how we can create our own samples, this is the question...

The card SD contents many files of sequences (.SNG), one file with the program sounds (.PCG) and two files (META.IMG and SAMPLE.IMG) which suppose to have the samples used for the programs.musicman2011 wrote:please confirm if you dont mind.
Could you read the contents of this card on a pc and confirm there are sample files contained on the card??
Could you reply with the file extension types?
I do not know the extension name for a Korg wave sample, perhaps spme one here knows

Dear friends i'm from peru and i bought my krome here and yes, it load samples because if you turnon the krome without the sd card the new pathches does not soun at all, and let me say , imho, some of them are really good like the peruvian cajon, the trombone, some brass sound and the zampoñas, latin percusion
The question ishow toload our own samples, that would be really cool...
Sorry about my english my friends
If any body want the contents of the sd card i can send it!
My email is audioxpress@gmail.com

And maybe someone learn ordiscover how toload our own samples

From the Krome MIDI implementation document:
Whatever VMT is in the case of the Krome... Anyways, I'd read it as a possible means of using samples stored on the storage media, whatever that is (SSD? SD card? Flash? whatever...).
Code: Select all
+-----------+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+---------+
| PCM OSC1 STORAGE PARAMETERS (440 Bytes) |
+-----------+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+---------+
| PCM OSC MULTISAMPLE1 PARAMETERS (8 Bytes) |
+-----------+---------------------+-------------------------------------------------------+---------+
|1004 | Type | 0:Off, 1:Multisample | 3,03,00 |
+-----------+---------------------+-------------------------------------------------------+---------+
|1005 | Bank | 0:ROM Mono, 1:ROM Stereo, 2:VMT Mono, 3:VMT Stereo | 3,03,01 |
+-----------+---------------------+-------------------------------------------------------+---------+
Krome is much better than Triton. Ignoring things like the sampler (Krome also has ability to load samples) the ribbon, the individual outputs and the aftertouch on keybed, everything else the Krome wins, is better machine.audioxpress wrote:Kromeler i want toask you something, here in my city there issome guy that wants to trade a triton classic for my krome, it is in mint condition, i see you hav3 both of them, do you think it's a good deal? VMT is korg's term for Virtual Memory Technology i guess. the same the use for kronos to stream samples directly from a solid state disk.synthjoe wrote: Whatever VMT is in the case of the Krome... this may explain how sample are handled even without additional ram.

So what is the definitive answer here? Can the Krome accept sampled files through the SD card or not?

M3, Radias R, Kurzweil PC3LE, EMU Proteus 1000, EMU Proteus 2000 (three of 'em) EMU Proteus 2500, , Alesis QS6, Alesis QS7.1 (2 of them, 'cause I use them as midi controllers and I prefer their keyboard action), MPK 61, love the buttons / sliders etc but not liking the action. Wavestation A/D. Core i7 PC, 32 GB ram, 500 GB SSD, Presonus Studio One 2 Pro, VST's Pianoteq, Alchemy
