Krome upload your own samples help!!!!!!

Post by Draykoe »

Okay don't mean to beat a dead horse but here we go. So bought this wonderful keyboard and love it. However I absolutely for the love of God can't figure out how to load my samples and sounds I purchased from modernbeatz.com into this thing. I saved them on my computer and even saved them on my SDHC card and tried transferring them into my board. I keep getting this error that says " illegal SMF data" . Now I just want to know 2 things. First how the heck do I fix SMF problem. Second if problem one is fixable , once and for all can you or can you Not upload your old samples or new purchased samples from another website into your music station ? I will be highly disappointed if I have to create all these sounds from scratch ,which is one if the reasons I went to modernbeatz in the first place but if I have to I will. If you own a korg krome keyboard or work there I would greatly appreciate your help dearly.

P.S.
please please please post a link or be very clear and concise with a step by step process on how to fix this problem. Thanks to all fellow musicians/korg for your time. :D :D

Well, SMF files contain music data for songs so no idea why you are looking for samples. Furthermore, the Krome does not allow for loading your own samples. There is some discussion it my be possible but certainly not the way you are trying.
All you can load in terms of sounds are .pcg files from M50 or Krome.

Did you mean modernbeats.com? Nothing there listed for the Krome as it doesn't load samples. I'm afraid you are going to have to use the existing samples in the Krome and manipulate your own sounds.

Dear brother,

The krome/SDHC sold in Peru - have .pcg file and .sng files and also two files i.e., META.IMG and SAMPLE.IMG

So, you may please check the contents of the folder.

Wish you all the best.

Sampling with Krome

Post by rjeunet »

My understanding is the Krome is not design for Sampling. It looks like there is a work around, but this is not facilitated by Korg. Otherwise you can play your combis and record the Midi output to a Daw, and change the sounds with software instruments of your choice.
