bringing us water to drink...Kid, i don't think you belong here, get lost.

I've just removed my previous post thinking that this thread was going into a negative argument.....
Thanks for your reply,I do realise where you're coming from with this.
As said, although I do have a faulty unit,I still don't regret buying the Kronos.
Perhaps the x version is a better model, with less problems etc.
It really depends what one expects from an instrument, how it's going to be used.....live or studio etc.
In my case it's something that I can fiddle around with for a long time,at home, with all the process of discovery, learning and of course the playing, for pure enjoyment.
The deciding factor for me was the piano voice, which remains,in my opinion, the best one currently available.
As you already have experience of synths and your friend has got a Kronos, perhaps it's not one for you after all.
There are alternatives out there, depending on needs.
Again,Good Luck with your choice.
Best Wishes.

All you simple minds that have nothing but your petty insults answer the question. Why does Kronos have so many problems out of the box.Let's get this right you want me banned because i ask the question Why does Kronos have so many problems out of the box. You are the imposter not I. I'm very wise. I like all my korg synths. But I would never buy a workstation that so many people have had so many problems out of the box with and for someone to say I'm wrong for not buying a workstation that has so many problems is crazy. Instead of insults or defending korg tell me about a good workstation worth buying or why the kronos would be a good investment.

Please read your manual... on page one. It tells us to leave theKeytar1 wrote:I can not waste money on workstation that has so many problems out of the box.
Kronos IN THE BOX!!!!!!.....

my mistake it's not in the manual.
but there is a black sticker on the bottom of the keyboard that says....
DO NOT OPEN. to me that means, leave it in the box.
so don't take the Kronos out the box if you expect it to work right....
LOL

See this is the problem Keytar: You can't be STUPID and own a Kronos. So obviously it's too advanced for you or your amateur friend. Go back to fruity loops and your monotribes and make some phat beats yo. If you bought ANY workstation for the sequencer to be used beyond a scratch pad or for pre-production work then it proves how little clue you have.
Here's an idea Keytar: PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Give us links to your work that demonstrate your vast experience so you can school us.
Aren't you so cute acting like a bigshot calling everyone a joke because you can't figure out the Kronos which btw WORKS PERFECTLY. I don't have any problem using it. EVERY FEATURE too. Guess I just got a "Good one" huh?
Why don't you run back to your little sand box and leave the big toys to the PROFESSIONALS eh? Seriously if you have so little experience in sound design or synth history/technology to understand why the Kronos is a good investment then don't waste your money! The fact that you're synth shopping weeks before NAMM without any outstanding commitments speaks VOLUMES about your experience.

Some well known problems are discussed exactly in this forum. It even has stickies for that right at the top! These problems have decreased significantly since the KronosX.
The real question is why so many people bought and buy a Kronos and have no problem discussing pros and cons in this board.
Perhaps it is so welcome to many, because it is the the most powerful and flexible synth around?
Sorry if some Kingys and Keytars
miss this obvious context.

.
I have been more vocal than most about my problems, yes it was annoying, yes I had enough as in the first few months of ownership, I was without it too much, but at no point did korg give up on me, even offering to send their trainer out for free as a way of saying sorry.
I thought about getting the motif xf8 before getting the X version.
I can say with 100% certainty that while the motif is an excellent keyboard, I would have been really really disappointed going to that after the Kronos. And having used the Kronos and got used to some of its features (there's a lot and it will take months) , if my X died today, while I would be ranting on here, I would still want another Kronos rather than anything the competition offers
Yes I'm vocal, yes so are the others with problems, but count how many of us there are, 4 or 5 at most. Sure that's 4 or 5 too many but I suspect there's a similar failure rate with most of the competition.
I could not be happier with my Kronos X.

I have posted here on the only issue (PSU failure) I've had with the Kronos, and that is the point - it may seem like there are lots of problems but generally people are more vocal about complaining than giving accolades!
I think the response from Korg here is excellent - I've had (have) many synth from different manufacturers and certainly this has been the best forum for response and support.
I'm not a fanboy of any particular synth - they all have their quirks - I would like the Kronos display font to be bigger is my biggest gripe and it could be more intuitive but they are minor in comparison to the vast capability it has.
The score so far is: Troll 0 Korg Users 24
Game over.

Re: Why does Kronos have so many problems out of the box
You may be worried about complaints about Kronos in the forum. To ask about the issues is ok. But your post is too general to give a simple/short answer. I have some complaints of my own, but I did not for one day feel sorry about purchasing my instrument, because the issues are minor and not getting in the way with my music. Nothing is perfectKeytar1 wrote:I've noticed that there are lot of kronos owners saying the kronos has problems as soon as they buy the thing and boot it up. I'm looking to buy a workstation but this kronos seems to have to many problems. Does korg support the kronos I know that it's been on the market for awhile and a kronos x but why have they not addressed the issues with this workstation it does not make since. I can not waste money on workstation that has so many problems out of the box. I hear that it doesnt do half the things korg says it does. this is crazy. does it read and play soundfont 2 format even. Also I heard it takes 2-3 minutes to boot. Shame on korg !

Did you check out the Kronos already? If not, do it. If you feel that it is not your instrument, fine. If you like it and you think you might miss something important, come back with questions to the point.
