I need help with my Pa600QT!!!

Hi everyone!
I just got my Pa600QT, I decided to buy a Korg arranger after working with Yamaha for 10 years, and I am pretty impressed so far! I just joined this forum, because I had a couple of questions about the Korg, so I'm hoping someone could help me with them!

Can someone explain how I can assign different effects to different sound layers and tracks? every time I go to the effects menu it seems very confusing to me.

Also, is there a mono/poly switch that I could use in real time?

I'll probably come up with more questions, but I would really appreciate if someone could answer those! Thanks!

when you say real time do you mean like a on/off physical button? what Yamaha gear did you own or still have?

not a button but necessarily, but I just want to know how to switch it on/off whenever I choose to... I have a psr-or700. I get the oriental models because I play world music too.
