Help. M-audio Axiom is playing the Kronos by itself

Post by keekma »

Hello,

Ik have a midikeyboard M-audio Axiom to play the Kronos. The last two rehearsals with my band in a very cold room (its winter in the Netherlands), the Kronos is playing by itself. I think it is trickered by the Axiom. Sounds are trickered ,without playing, on the general midichannel (the sounds of the Kronos keys). When I play the Axiom on channel 2 also different, random, notes are playing on channel 1. Also when I slightly bounds the bottum of the Axiom, or the sidepannels, also notes are triggered. At home I never had this problem.

Is it possible that because of the cold, the axiom contacts are to close and make contact just by slightly touching it (not the keys)? Even when I bounch on the ground. The strange thing is that it is triggering on midichannel 1 and not the channel of the axiom.
Do others have this experiance? I have changed the usb-cable but that doesn't help.
Is there something I can do?
Should I return it and get an other brand?

Please help. I have gigs coming up and don't want this to happen.

Thank you.

Thank you.
It could be that you are just working out of the specified temp range of this machine. Look it up in the manual. Every product has a temp range it is guaranteed to work in.

Or you could heat up the keyboard with heat generating pads and isolate it from the cold. Or put some old 60/100W lights beneath it. The generated heat should be sufficient to make it warm enough. And you will shine even more on stage. ;) (But make sure it does not burn.)

Maybe you should look on the M-Audio forums?
Your description suggests that it´s your Axioms and not a Kronos Problem.

I would prefer an Novation keyboard. They are much better imho.

Thanx for your advice. I will look it up in the manual. I also put a topic on the M-audio forum.

I now think it might be the 8 pads on the Axiom. Because the triggering is on channel 1. The keys are playing on channel 2 and the pads on 1. Maybe if I disable the pads (I dont use them) the problem is solved.
