Can I create my own split?

I'm trying to figure out if I can create my own splits... some of the stock favorites have upright bass on the left, piano on the right, so I would assume the ability is there. Can I create my own using the editor? I see no mention of this in the manual.

No you can't. It's one of the most annoying things about the software.
