Audio recording examples?

Post by wrees »

I searched this forum and the web and found very few samples of audio+midi songs produced entirely with the Kronos. Is there a sticky thread that I'm missing or a widely known repository of Kronos-produced songs?

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about midi/sample examples; there are tons of great sounding onboard-sound-only songs out there. I'm talking about voices, guitars, other acoustic instruments, etc. recorded, mixed, and mastered on the Kronos.

Can anyone point me to some good resources?

I think the demo songs have what you are looking for.

Thanks for the responses, and the pieces are lovely, especially the meditation piece. But they're not exactly what I'm looking for. And it's hard to tell in the online Korg demos which sounds are audio recordings versus onboard sounds. Sure there's some vocals, but not much.

I'm trying to evaluate the characteristics, the personality if you will, of the audio chain on the Kronos. To that end, I'm looking for some fully produced songs where you can hear the vocals clearly, if not alone, and maybe some other audio-recorded instruments like various guitars, basses, percussion, or other acoustic instruments.

I'm surprised that Korg doesn't have more demos of this, given that audio recording is an important part of what makes Kronos a flagship workstation. For instance, theoretically, a song consisting of lead and harmony vocals, real guitar and bass mic'ed or through the amp models, and keys and drums via the onboard sounds, could sound fantastic, but I can't find anything like that to evaluate.

:-k Above, you have songs where the audio tracks are used.

Maybe, see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK0QE68_ ... j2EXRkSoRQ or this: http://challengertributesong.com/recording.html

look for posts by phattbuzz. I believe he does all of it on the Kronos. Including the audio recording.

Great! The Challenger video is a good example and helps me a lot. Rather touching too. BTW your channel looks really interesting, and I hope to dive into it soon.

In the other two videos (Space Arpeggio and Chill Out Music), which sounds are audio tracks? I didn't hear anything vocal or acoustic, just electronic sounds, so it's hard to tell what's an onboard sound versus an electronic instrument on an audio channel. The info button listed sounds but they all look like onboard sounds. Sorry about my confusion, and I really appreciate your quite knowledgable help with this.

And are there any other audio tracks than the female vocal in the meditation piece? Maybe some sort of ethnic flute, but I thought that might be an onboard sound?

Thanks again.

I don't own a Kronos. Otherwise I could make my own examples! :-)

I have a Krome, and I'm thinking about either getting a Tascam DP-24 or DP-32 to sync with it or returning/selling the Krome and getting a Kronos (although the reports of the sequencer on the Kronos being a lot harder to use than the sequencer on the Krome gives me pause).
