Help needed-'Trancematic' sound from Radias/M3 to Kronos

Post by Malagant »

Hi all,
Being a noob in sound programming i want to ask one of the gurus here if its possible to help me with this:i had before kronos a korg m3 with radias board and there was a program named'tracematic' which i absolutely loved. After i sold my m3 i bought a radias thinking i will have the same sound of trancematic as in radias exp board ..but its not the same..and its impossible to make it sound like that one,i also tried to sample it from m3 to kronos( some friend sent me wavs of c1,d1 etc....no result).:( If anyone here cand make that m3 radias exp sound as a pcg to be used with kronos please help ,i am ready to pay(paypal) imediately.-im not interested in the 'trancematic' sound that comes with the 49 radias which i have, only the one in m3 exp-radias.Thank you all

It is called "Wide Open Pad" in the "Synth Hard" catagory on the Radias Module. It is an exact match for all intents and purposes. You can massage it a bit if you think it need it, let me know what you think. :!:
P.S. - After looking into it a bit more, I believe that you should add Stereo Flanger as insert effect 2 and set the setting as they are in the M3 and then possibly try a wee bit of reverb. Best of luck. If you do it this way instead of a sample you will have full Radias control over the sound. Also if you want it fatter, just copy Timbre 1 and put in as Timbre 2 with a teeny bit of tone offset.
Peace,
Brian

You can use the computer editors for the M3 and the Radias and copt all of the setting exactly also. Then you will have exactly the same sound. The sound uses nothing in the way of waveforms that the Radias doesn't have. I know it wierd that they call two sounds the same thing and they sound different. I really think that in order to be happy your best bet is to copy ALL of thew setting from the exp Radias tothe Radias module. I have done this with other sounds and it worked perfectly.

Radias for KRONOS

Post by bfburkejr »

What would have been REALLY great is if KORG had put the bus in the KRONOS to attach a Radias Module. They probably didn't want people to think that the Radias could do thigs the KRONOS coudn't, which it absolutely can.

Or if they had added the Radias as an EXi.

Trancematic

Post by bfburkejr »

That is a bit strange, but the M3 does have more effects and a few different things. I played around with both the Transmatic and the Wide Open Pad and got them both sounding very much like the M3 version. If I can get them extremely close to an exact match I'll send you an example of the sound and if you like it I'll send the Radias file and you can just load it in your Radias and poof, you'll be all set. Give me a few days to a week. Is the Sound Cloud file the other guy posted a sound file from a Radias or a Kronos or from some other Synth? If it is from some other synth, you are going to end up with a multi-sample that more likely than not, sound different with velocity and note unless he samples every key at different velocities even then you can't adjust the filter resonance and cut off etc. Well you sort of can with EDS, but it's not quite the same. Good luck! If I have really good success I'll send you a sample of the results to see if you would like the Radias file. It's good sound design practice for me anyway.
Peace,
Brian
P.S. - I don't charge...

I do have both the M3 Radias and the Radias-R Module. If you are going to use it on the Kronos it will never sound or behave exactly the same, but if sampled correctly it can be close. Good luck.
P.S. Having looked further into it you would, if you were willing to attach your Radias-R to your Kronos, have to use 2 Timbres stacked in order to get all the effects etc. from the M-3 version. Seeing as how your Radias -r is in the closet, I was wondering if you want to sell it?

Why would the Kronos need a Radias EXi? It already has 2 of them that you can use at the same time.

Pretty sure the Radias does a few things AL1 doesn't do? At the very least, its vocoder is a ton better.
