Controlling external gear in sequencer mode, program change

Hi,

I hope anyone can help me out with my problem controlling external gear (TC Helicon Voice Live Touch) in sequencer mode. What I want is to have the Kronos send program change messages to my VL Touch instantly when I change songs. Example:

In Song 1, I want so select preset 5 on my VL Touch and in song 2 I want to select preset 8. So here is what I did: I chose Track 15 as my controller track, set it to MIDI ch 15 (which is the channel the VL Touch responds), set the Track to EXT2 and chose program 004 (000 = preset 1, 002 = preset 2 … 004 = preset 5). This works correctly and preset 5 is selected on the VL Touch. Now I’m switching to Song 2, do the same setting except that I chose prog 007. This also works, preset 8 is selected.

So now, when I switch back to song 1, no program change command is send to the VL Touch. It remains on preset 8. I pressed the start button for testing means since I thought, this might make the Kronos send the program change command but nothing happened.

One way it could manage to send the program change was to insert a measure on track 15, adding a pc command (midi event edit) in there and starting the sequence. This causes to send the configured MIDI event (here the program change command) but not the program configured on track 15 itself.

If I try this in combi mode, it works like a charm so this must have something to do with sequencer mode. What am I doing wrong or is there no way to do what I want in sequencer mode?

Ok, found the solution myself. In global mode --> MIDI settings, SEQ MIDI Out Setup was set to "for External Seq" which prevented the sequencer to send MIDI commands to external gear. After switching it to "for Master" everything works as expected.
