TRITON patches have overwritten my customs!

Post by Bileofwood »

I'm not too happy! Some interesting tones in the TRITON pack, but they do appear to have overwritten all of the custom tones I had in bank F.

Does anyone know how to reverse this, or have I lost all of my old tones?

Also, am I a complete n00b or has anyone else had this problem?

They did warn us about that in the read me file that came with the triton sounds. I'm afraid they are gone if you didn't back it up first.

Actually I just checked, it's not in my readme file. The one which says all of this:

Loading TRITON.PCG onto your Krome:
1. After downloading the .zip file from our website, it will need to be unzipped.
2. After unzipping the download, you will see a file in the newly created folder named TRITON.PCG. Copy the TRITON.PCG file onto your SD (max. 2 GB) or SDHC card (max. 32 GB).
 Note: SDXC cards are not supported.
3. Put the card into your Krome, and press the MEDIA button.
4. If you are not already on the “Load” tab, touch “Load” on the bottom of the screen.
5. Touch “TRITON.PCG” to highlight it, and then touch the “Load” button.
6. Verify that “Load TRITON.SNG too?” is not selected, and then touch “OK”.
7. The screen will briefly display, “Now writing into internal memory.” When this message disappears, loading has completed.
To access these sounds, press the PROG button, then press the BANK F button. The first sound you will see is “A000 Super Grand”. Note that these sounds will be retained even if you turn off your Krome’s power, so you do not need to repeat this process every time you turn on your Krome.

If they are gone they are gone. I suppose I'll just have to start again. It's all learning I guess.

Yes, that's what is in the "Loading TRITON Programs.pdf" file, and it implies that they will be loaded into Bank F.

The "KROME_VNL_Best of Triton.pdf" shows that there are 128 patches.

Since the size of each bank is 128, it can be implied that it will overwrite the entire Bank F. Yeah, they don't spell it out exactly, but anything you had in Bank F is now gone.

Sorry to hear that. One lesson to be learned here, ALWAYS keep a backup copy of anything you want to keep around...

My bad as well then. They mentioned it on the youtube clip though when they presented the sounds.
