Midi-Velocity Broken?

Post by djalexrai »

Hi All,

My Korg Radias does not seem to respond to velocity values, does anyone know if there is a setting I'm overlooking, or whether it's time to send this thing to the repair shop?

It's not my keyboard because cubase picks up the note values fine, but it doesn't matter how quietly I push the key it sounds at max..

Edit: Ok, after much cussing and tweaking I figured it out on my own. I had a value of zero for "Level Velocity" seeing as how this is my first hardware synth I had assumed key velocity would always affect volume like it does in the software world. lol.

Velocity can be used to control any number of parameters so it is really down to the individual sound you are using.

The whole point of a synthesizer is that you can program it to make many different sounds and control/express them in various manners.
