STS have their own properties that override sound settings !
You must edit STS in Style environment , edit that sound via menu to be mono (not poly by default )
and save that STS , otherwise mono sound settings are totally ignored in STS mode !

I am not editing STS sound
Its factory voice and I want to save it as an user voice (not as STS) in mono
(even there is no way to edit STS voice as poly or mono if there is some way to do this let me know)

Clarify your questions to get instant answers !!!
You can't save an edited factory sound without unlocking factory Resources protection ,
except if you save it as User sound , which it definitely works !

Since I answer you my intention is to help you !
It seems that you've missed something there, since I wrote you all options and
I confirm that can be saved anywhere as mono or anything else !

Good luck !

Thanks for advice !!!
Do I look like guessing issues !
Just FYI , not only I own Pa600QT , not only have done in PaSeries all you might try for the next years ,
but also I already have a commercial 96 Mb of Pa600QT locked resources product into circulation.
Therefore I confirm that there is no bug at present OS concerning at least writing resources at a factory
Pa600 that has not been loaded with non proper external garbage !
Just for the story , since I do not tolerate hints when I try to help newbies else it's the last time that all of
you see me in your Pa600 section !

This is how it is

Mono, Legato settings of a User Sound is not preserved when it is used in Style mode.

This is what I did ...
Style Play - Style - Factory - Unplugged - Desert Shuffle
The style has a Jazz Tenor 1 as Upper1

I have edited the same Jazz Tenor 1 to be Mono, Legato using Sound Edit and saved it in User Sound.

I switch back to Style Play to Desert Shuffle Style, there, I am assigning the saved user sound as Upper 1.
The Mono, Legato settings are lost in style mode.
I switch back to Sound Edit Mode to check the sound... nothing is wrong with the edited sound.

What is wrong here?
How to achieve such a simple requirement?
Step by Step would be appreciated.

As AntonySharmman has pointed out, the Mono setting is not preserved when that sound is used in Style Play mode. Each sound, whether it's STS or realtime keyboard parts (Upper1,2,3 &Lower), has seperate setting in Style Play mode. While in Style Play mode, press Menu button, select Track Controls, in Mode Tab, there's a Type parameter, it's here you can make the mono setting for each sound, default is poly, that's why your origional sound is mono but when used in Style Play mode changed to Poly. After making setting, don't forget to save the Performance.

thanks compusic,
yes ... track controls ... performance ... that is the way.

i think legato comes from user sound setting.

so mono/ legato problem solved... is that right?

emmizeb owes AntonySharmman an apology methinks. AntonySharmman had the right answer in his first post. Kudos
