I certainly changed the editor settings on the editors after re-installing - but I definitely didn't on the laptop prior to reinstallation... I guess I'll leave it as one of those mysteries that makes life interesting.So it looks like you changed the midi port names from the right ones to the wrong ones, even though you said you didn't.

I have say how easy it is also using the editor to work on programs than working purely with the Radias display screen
