Anyone running latest Moutain Lion with SV-1...

Post by javaj »

and has a working editor. I would like to know that it does in fact work with the latest updates (as I suspect the Java is the issue). I am not able to connect to my SV-1 (of course SV-1 works fine everywhere else).
I have tried doing terminal edits to the system to remove all midi driver references. Totally nuked all Korg drivers and software. Totally reinstalled the latest OS to the SV-1- yet still can't connect with the editor.

Anyone else have another method of loading up sound packs- I think the editor is my only hope.

As you can read in this thread:

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... c&start=45

The following helped me (on win7):

"Go the start menu and type in regedit. In the frame on the left open KKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows NT>Current Version>Drivers32 in the frame on the right you should notice registry entries titled midi, midi1, midi2, etc... I won't get into the how and why in this post, but i right-click>delete on the following entries: midi, midi1, midi2. Close the regedit using File>Exit. Open the Start menu and open: All Programs>KORG>KORG Usb-MIDI Driver Tools and open Install Korg USB-Midi Device. After installation, open the Editor and it should work"

Mac is totally different. I tried to search if there was an equivalent limit- but then it dawned on me that I have only connected 5 separate devices on this Mac ever- so that wouldn't be it. Still thinking it is to do with Java.
Any Mac users running with no issues (then at least I know it is not a bug software wise).

Hi, I'm using the latest configuration - OSX 10.8.3, Java Standard Edition Version 7 Update 17 (build 1.7.0_17-b02), SV-1 Editor 1.1, SV-1 73 Black - and I could load up SoundPacks with no problem.
(However, I haven't tried to modify the sounds with the editor.)

Thank you- that confirms it is something with my system then. Of course, can't figure out what it is :(

WOW- found a solution (although not clean but works).
Simply create a new user profile. Log out of your normal one, and into the new one- now the editor will work.

So I will just create a user profile called SV-1 Editor and be done with it.
