Pa600 Micro SD Card

Post by NoteBender »

There had been some questions on how the German Pa600 Musikant set was loaded into the keyboard.

I found this demo just now on inserting and loading an Indian micro SD card into the Pa600. Although not in English this demo is clear on how a local set would get loaded into the Pa600.

I have removed that thing and tried to load a SD card. It's no problem getting it in but it don't read it as long as it's not a MUSIKANT's files on the card.

I am having the same problem - the 600 is not recognising that there is a micro SD card fitted/inserted ... is there something we are missing here or will it only read a pre-loaded micro card from Korg?

Yes, as I already wrote it has to be some KORG product like the Musikant with a built in bungle for it to accept the card...

The micro sd card slot will only recogonize SD cards provided by KORG. It will not recogonoze any other cards

That is not really the full trough about this as I found a site in Italy who sold Korg SD cards and they costs what any other SD card do. When buying MUSIKANT you have to download the file yourself. Even the install of the file is done by putting it on your USB memory and then I think you will get some sort of file you put on that SD card and when the Pa600 starts up, it reads the "right info" on that card and loads all the files.

I have tried this myself with a empty SD card and MUSIKANT file on my USB and I got to that point where it didn't read anything on the SD card and did not install all files, just some of them...

The microSD card slot is just for dongle. So you cannot use a memory card to store data on it. Even Korg do not store data like styles sounds samples etc. It works just like a dongle key. If they provide some copyrighted materials the dongle just autorize the propper loading.

So do note try to use any microSD in that slot if you do not have it from Korg.
Good Luck

Micro SD card

From Video on Tube My understanding is that you need Micro SD for Security and sounds from USB files.
So The questions to KORG are

How can we obtain MicroSD, and files ?
Who will be selling or sharing card and files ?
How long the world has to wait ?

It whould be nice if you can share the info here so all of us knows this. I don't understand why anybody have a need of the SD card working when the USB works the same way (exept using it as a dongle). Can you explain that, please?

As far as I know, it is used exclusively as a copyright protection dongle.

Copy protection.

Yes that is correct.

What Micro SD card does is let PA600 Decript the encripted data files on usb flashdrive.

That what I was told.
