iPolysix Sounds to trade or buy
I am new to all things Korg and just purchases the iPolysix.
I am looking for synth sounds (e.g., the Cars, INXS, U2). So far I have played with Factory presets and tried to adjust, but not really getting what I want easily.
Does anyone know a good way to find these synth sounds for the iPolysix for trade or to buy. I am just looking for the sounds, not the songs.
Thank you very much.

Ability to trade patches would be excellent but i'm sure it's not possible. The nearest thing is to open the ipolyshare / soundcloud account from within the app and listen to some of the songs which have been uploaded.
Click remix next to the song and it will be downloaded and added to your local songs. If you listen through the song you can save patches you like which others have created and they will appear in the "Your Sounds" list for use in your own songs.
Both synths can have a different sound in each pattern so each song can potentially store 64 patches but you have to save each patch from each pattern individually (or just keep clicking "save" as the song plays"
Would be great if Korg added a central repository for patches and banks as well as songs !

Thank you
Those are helpful comments...
I will try this, but may have questions as I go through it, since I am new.
Thank you again!
I just want to get good presets, for some songs that I play with my band, where I just want to play some short licks, like
The synth at the beginning of U2's where the streets haven't name
The synth in the Cars Just what I needed
The synth in INXS Don't change
Thanks....

Is there a way to search for songs/sounds
Is there a way to search for songs/sounds within Polyshare/soundcloud?
I can't help you find presets, but I can help make "yousets." You can make all those sounds if you learn how to do it. The Car's patch is very easy. It's mainly a simple saw or pulse with portamento. A filter is used to give it the final touch of character. The U2 patch is an organ+strings pad. The INXS patch is a detuned saw pad. There's quite a few tutorials on youtube to learn how to make patches of these kinds for other synths, and in this case, the exact synth used isn't as important as learning how to make these sounds in general.

Thank you. If you have any YouTube suggestions....
Thank you. If you have any YouTube suggestions that would be great. Particularly for this type of synth, since I am still looking for the right buttons. For example, I didn't know where to look for portamento or filter or detuned saw. I apologize, I'm new and still starting out. thank you again for your comments.
You can get many ideas for sounds from the following setting charts:
http://www.korguser.net/re/polysix/POLYSIX_Setting.pdf
The iPolySix has more powerful effects, however, so you can use them to enhance the basic sounds quite a bit.
Unfortunately, the original PolySix didn't have portomento, which I didn't know when I posted my first reply to you. The iMS-20 synth does, and that's the iPad synth that I've used the most. So you might need to get iMS-20 to do the Cars lead that glides from note to note. Other iPad synths have portamento too. The detuned saw patch should be easy to do on iPolySix. Set the waveform to a saw, SubOsc to 1Oct, and then you can do detuning several ways. You can set Unison on, voices to 2, and set the detune and spread. The iPolySix Ensemble and chorus effects also do detuning. These add a lot of motion and depth to pads, like organs and strings. So try some of the organ patches for the U2 sound. You can also use the Modulation Generator set to VCO to modulate the pitch for vibrato, or to VCA to vary the volume for tremelo. This can be used for organs with a delay.
The original PolySix manual might be helpful.

Just this week 2 tracks appeared on Polyshare showcasing a technique for simulating a glide effect, the first track called "The hidden Glide" by Zapman24
Several users asked for more details of how it was achieved so he added a second track called "Acid Slide Tutorial ipolysix" and full instructions are in the comments for that upload. They are both pretty convincing 303 glide immitations.
Here's a link to the upload on Soundcloud with instructions
https://soundcloud.com/zapman24/acid-slide-tutorial
To find it in ipolyshare, tap "korg official" , Play the top one which should be Mee Zanook's "Sixth Memory Remix" , find a comment by Zapman24, tap the picture of him next to his name, scroll down the list of his tracks, click "Remix" to download it, load the song in iPolysix and have a look at how the effect was acheived as per Zapmans instructions on the above link.
Also as others said if I want to make a sound from a popular track, I usual google the artist and title name followed by the words tutorial or synth tutorial. It's unlikely there will be a Tut for iPolysix but one for another synth will tell you which parameters to change such as filter / envelope settings , then just mess with the same parameters in iPolysix till you get the same sound or near enough !

While that acid glide effect is interesting and useful, it isn't really very close to portamento glide in the most important respects, particularly for doing that Car's style lead. Using iMS-20 or other iPad synth that directly implements portamento will let you reproduce the Car's lead while playing live, which can't be done with that glide technique. That acid slide is a hack, but certainly a good one for getting some cool note sliding in sequences. It also does show how the sharing community is active at coming up with interesting techniques. The lack of portamento on the original PolySix is enough of a problem that some owners have added it themselves with circuit bending.
Here's a new example of a guy who added aftertouch and portamento to his PolySix.

This video is a good example of how portamento glide works and sounds when playing live. That's pretty cool too, but it doesn't help at all for iPolySix, of course.

iPolysix Sounds to trade or buy
Incase your still looking for new sounds for iPolysix, i uploaded my first soundbank yesterday to PolyShare.
The sounds are Demo'd in a very rough Song called "Beb's iPolySoundBank" and it currently contains 16 sounds
You can click "remix" to download the song and individually save the sounds to your iPolySix
it's a pain to saver each one but it's the only way i can think of to share soundbanks
Cheers
