I had something similar with my K88X. Take a look at the video and see if you think it is the same thing.

I noticed this the first week of receiving my K88 and had it sent back and replaced by Korg. I was told there is a bar that warps as the unit gets hot. Was also told this is quite rare and not had any problems with the new one.
Your video is exactly whats happening to mine.

I put a huge solid bit of timber across my stand yesterday and placed my Kronos on that. At first the A key was perfectly fine. But over time with the Kronos on, it gets steadily worse.

I suspect I need to loosen the screws and move the keybed a bit. Although I really don't expect to have to do this on a 3K keyboard (even more so when its never been moved), will try later when wifes home to give me a hand moving the Kronos.

Well that was a pain to do, I can see it's easy if it's on a stand with two arms, but not now it's on a solid top :)

Anyway, that appears to have fixed it, although I've only just turned my Kronos on, there is now a bigger gap.

Time will tell

Good news. Hopefully thats the fix for you sorted. Mine was definitely temperature related so make sure its on and the room is warm. Easier now the weather is warming up a bit :-)

It's been on over 4 hrs and is fine.

I suspect the bar moved somehow and was just close enough so that when it was on for a while and things expand, it made the bar just that little bit too close.

Still, all perfect now :)

This statement may give some comfort to those who are disappointed with the Kronos keybed quality, but it is nevertheless generally not true!

E.g. both of my OASYS-88 keybeds do not show any sign of fatigue of material and they didn't get louder, even after several years of extensive use and the excellent Hammer Action still works perfectly smooth, without any rattle noise or whatsoever...

Hi Danny.
I disagree. When one says, if something is not broken, then it cannot be fixed. That's a fact that does not change.

What you have to decide is weather or not it is broken. Only then should you take action.

It does not help to make that decision when you have people on the forum very focused on every single little sound a mechanical device makes. It can create slight paranoia.

Regarding your OASYS, it has a competently different keybed design than the KRONOS, plus it's not like your just going to wake up one day and notice your OASYS changed. It happens so gradually over the years you don't even know it.

My Yamaha piano is an extreme example because that's the Family Piano. It's turned on for a few hours every day and all 4 of us here will be at some point in front if it. It's seen two kids growing up too, so you can bet they have given it plenty palm mashing sessions when they were younger.

Stil...it is not broken, so it won't be fixed. Sure I could get it dampened, but why bother spending money on that when it does not in anyway effect the performance of the instrument and the enjoyment.

Regards
Sharp

Thanks Sharp. You know, this morning I've just had this "Korg is dead, long live the OASYS" feeling again...
