Korg SDD-3000 Re-Issue PLEASEEEE!!!

Post by oddb0d »

I am convinced you guys don't know how much in demand the old Korg SDD-3000 is. They are pretty hard to find these days and are selling for $1300+ on E-Bay. These are for units that cost $400 to get serviced by the few that know how and most are beat up.

On all the guitar message boards, Huge Racks, The Gear Page, U2 Recording group etc. Everyone just raves about how amazing this delay unit is. I for one recently got one. I've tried the following delays and the winner by a HUGE AMOUNT is the Korg SDD-30000

1. TC Electronic D-TWO
2. Boss DD-20
3. Eventide TimeFactor
4. Diamond Memory Lane 2
5. TC Electronic Nova Delay
6. Even the TC 2290 (considered the flag ship by many)
7. Line6 M13
8. Fractal Audio Axe FX
9. Eventide Eclipse

I've tried all these. NOTHING holds a torch to the SDD-3000. I believe if you built a authentic re-issue with the possibility of adding just two features...

1. MIDI Control
2. More Presets

This unit would sell like hot cakes. You've done the R&D, why not just revisit it? The pre-amp in the Korg SDD-3000 is to die for with a guitar. You are sitting on a gold mine... Not to mention The Edge from U2 is still using his Korg SDD-3000 and has stated in an interview "My favorite delay by is the Korg SDD-3000 but I used the 2290 (with the Korg Pre-amp) more as it has MIDI."

People are paying crazy amounts for these old units that require a lot of work. A new version would be killer. But please don't mess with the main components. It's perfect as is just add MIDI and Presets....

Hoping....

PS Do you realize there is a whole world of people just wanting to buy the pre-amp alone!!! It's considered to be the holy grail of guitar tone / boost.

Actually you can SERIOUSLY put me down for 2 or 3 of these if you re-did them.

Count me in - it's a job in itself trying to emulate that preamp tone!

If Korg puts out a limited edition of the sdd-3k, I'll certainly get 2 of those!

My father got me a used one yesterday for 150 euros.

Reading the first post I guess it was a great deal.

I am quite looking forward to try it.

By the way, is it a really nice unit with synths too, or not as good as it is with guitars?

SDD 3000

I've just bought a preamp pedal custom made to emulate the preamp in the SDD 3000.

Please reissue the SDD 3000 and I'll order and pay for one within 60 seconds of getting your email...

It's all in the tone :)

Guys there is no way a reissue will be the same as its impossible to get the same electronic componants.
and even if they where to get them manufactured it would be cost prohibitive
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
on a brighter side I did pick mine up at a boot sale for $30
keep looking and never give up!
