Ok, so this is more of a beginners question, but I gotta start there. All I have done, is record instrumentals on the on board sequencer and converted them to WAV. files. However, I have a macbook, with logic pro on it, and would like to record directly from the board into my computer, as the sequencer option has not been working as of late.
Do I just need a MIDI cable for this? How do I go about recording directly into the computer? What settings need to be set on the board for it to work?
I am guessing I do this in the sequence mode...

midi cable ius used only to record midi.
If you want to record sound as opposed to midi (note on/off data stream) there should be a way to change the headphone jack of your iMac to receiving, stereo (Preferences.sound.input) at which point Logic should be able to record the output from your studio's headphone jack directly into Logic as a .wav file. You may need a 1/4" to 3mm cable or adapter - make sure it is stereo (two black rings) to get both sides of the output.

To record MIDI you'd need a Midi to USB adapter (black box or cable wart) to get the signal to your Mac as it has no MIDI input. You could also save your sequences as .smf (standard MIDI files) or .mid and import those files to logic via disk w/o a cable or adapter.
AFAIK Logic can not import or decipher Korg proprietary .sng (sequence) files -- you have to save as a standard format MIDI file.
Also, unless you are creating GM sequences, you'll need to do some york to get the voice mapping of your korg into Logic.

Why not just copy the *.wav file onto the hard drive on the MacBook...?
1). Burn the *.wav file onto a CD as a data CD.
2). Read the CD on a PC with the UDF driver.
3). Copy the *.wav file onto a USB stick
4). Attach the USB stick to your MacBook
5). Copy the *.wav file onto the hard drive on the MacBook.
I am saying this because you will lose some sound quality if you re-record it.

Ok, I have considered the option of the CD to garage band or logic, but do not have a PC.
I have the MIDI cable, plugged into the workstation, the MAC sees the USB MIDI cable, however when trying to record onto logic or garageband, the signal is not seen, even though it sees the MIDI device...
I have never done this before, and am just trying to get it set up so I can record, and learn as I go. This MIDI device is a "plug and play" and the software 'sees' it, and it shows up on the Audio MIDI setup.
