What Keyboard shall I buy ???

Post by advid »

At this time I'm using an old Yamaha PSR3000....
Looking for an 'upgrade'..... SO ....!!!! ????
Choices that I'm thinking about..
1. Yamaha PSR s950

2. Korg Pa900 (when it arrives..)

3. Korg Pa 600 - with Roland BK7m module

4. Korg Pa 588 - with Roland BK7m module as well
4. Is my favourite because it gives me a full 88 key weighted piano with all on board Korg styles and the Roland will add hundreds more styles and tones... BUT no vocal harmony as per s950 and Pa900...
Where do i go... ?
Any other suggestions welcome..

I think I'd like an 88 key Pa900.... any chance ????

I'd go with the PA900. Then add a decent 88 key weighted action controller if I really needed it.

another option is to buy the PA600, an 88 key controller and get a TC-Helicon Voice Processor. That would give you a lot of flexibility. The dedicated TC processors start at around $200 and go to $800 to give you a range. I believe they have later generation harmony than the PA-900. Also, you could record your voice with harmony to a discrete track in a DAW. I don't know if you use the harmony in the 900 if you can do that.

Just wanted to give you another option...

I probably wouldn't go for the 600/588 route myself. The 600 has updated and better sounds/styles. for the 88 key part, there are a lot of good dedicated controllers to choose from.

If you don't like the first suggestion I gave, I would concur that the 900 would be the way to go (if you want an all-in-one solution including harmony) vs. having a separate box.

God bless!
