Post by jimmyfroshow@gmail.com »

hi
Can you please list your working transplanted cd drive model make?
My d1600 won't complete boot sequence due to incompatible cd drive.
thanks!
I love recording music. I feature indie bands on my Itunes pocast.

i USED TO OWN A D1600 MkII and got the following info off the net somewhere. I'm not sure if any old CD-R drive will work and I don't know if this'll help:

CD/RW Brand CD/RW Speed
Yamaha 2100E(or EZ)
Yamaha 2100E(or EZ)
Yamaha 2100E
Samsung SW252
Teac CDW58E
Aopen CRW1232
Teac CDW58E rev b
Samsung SW252
Teac W58E
Teac W58E

I did change my hard drive into an old PC-compatible 120GB one and it recognized it fine.
Live and let live!
