PA3x production to date?

Post by Beemer »

Does anyone know approximately how many PA3x 61/76 might have been manufactured? How would this number, if known, compare to the Tyros4 quantity?

With digital SLR cameras the serial numbers can give a clue if someone with a recent purchase is prepared to post.

Just a thought I had regarding the situation when either Korg or Yamaha announce their next TOTL arranger.

How many PA3x users, versus how many Tyros4 users will upgrade so affecting product availability. I say this because presumably it is the existing users that will hear about a release first and also they will be in a good position to make an early decision rather than those folk not yet into arrangers.

Yes, it was just a random thought probably fuelled by my fear that I will buy the PA3x76 just before a new model is launched. I've twice done that with a car and with my Zoom H4n and now there is a Zoom H6 with what most folk think has much improved mic preamps. I also, way back, bought my Kurzweil K1200 Pro 88 and soon after they brought out a General Midi voiced model.

So best to end my thoughts on this post and move on.

Hi Ian

I think these thoughts are a "fact of life" in this age of technology - whether you are just about to buy the latest iPad, iPhone, PC, washing machine etc...

I have a personal policy regarding these fantastic keyboards in that i NEVER buy a new model until it has been released for at least 12-18 months - the dust settles in that time, prices often start to come down and a lot of reviews, youtubes, bug fixes etc are already in place. So, for me, if Korg push out a brand new PA tomorrow I would not consider buying it until at least 2015 - but that's just me....

In the past I have made the mistake of diving in to "brand new releases" and being somewhat disappointed (I'm not talking about Korg here - actually it was regarding Roland and Yamaha - but I am going back a long time).

Ian, seriously my friend, you will absolutely love your PA3X-76 even if the PA4X is released the day after you buy it.

I think the PA3x is the most stable and superior of all the PA arrangers to date and I plan to keep mine a long time.

Cheers

Now I think the same. Though a few years ago I was thinking of buying a Pa2x, and planning to wait for KORG to release a new model - I thought Pa2x price would go down then, so I could have a dream arranger for good money..., But when Pa3x appeared I stopped thinking Pa2x was all I need. They know how to make us change our dreams ;-)

Oh Pete, let him have at least a week to enjoy the top model. ;-)
I wouldn't want to know about the new release (pa4x ?) the very next day after purchase of a Pa3x.

You are right. And what really I like about this keyboard is I still have a lot left to explore. I am not bored with it. And after 18 months I don't regret buying it.

Cheers

Hey Pete, as fast as they deliver to you guys down there, if the 4x was released today, you might need to order it as soon as possible in order to get it by 2015! Actually, I'm with you, show me a better arranger than the 3x, and I'll buy it today.
