No midi out

Post by shobud »

Hey All,
Up until yesterday my TR88 was working just fine. Today, no midi out.

I'm sending midi to an 003 and have confirmed my other korg controller triggers the mini grand just fine, so definitely the TR.

I'm not really a keyboard player (just have one in my studio). So, are there any troubleshooting tips?

I'm not using USB, the midi cable is good... so what else is there to look at before I assume the worst? Oh, I think it's version 1.1 and all analog outs are working as well.

Thanks,
Dan

I'd try connecting it to your computer, if you have a MIDI interface, to confirm what's actually being sent on the cable, if anything. It could be something silly like the global MIDI channel on your TR got changed. Monitoring the input from the cable directly will tell you what's up, whether nothing's being sent, or the wrong data is being sent.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a shot.
From what I've read in the manuals, my usb port will send midi to the computer, and in fact the midi out is disabled when using USB, so maybe that will tell me something...
