changing battery

Can anyone tell me how to change the IC Calender Battery in a Korg extreme. The warning of low battery voltage come on each time I turn it on. Thanks wes

Remove the Moss cover on the bottom and you'll see the battery. Battery is a CR2032

Just picked up the battery(Energizer CR2032) at Kmart for $4.00

Seems these batteries are very popular, every brand had the 2032 model. Cool that Korg used such a common one

It's so you can date stamp any files you write to media if you wish.

It may seem pointless having a date/time,but sometimes it's useful if you come back to any projects/data after sometime,I regualry use the TEX for storing system exclusive data of my synths,having had the TEX since 2004 found that having dates stamped onto the file extension really valuable meaning I knew what patches I had saved on the synths at that time and saving me time to find certain data many years after.

it can also help should you want to save several song files of the same data perhaps as you edit along the way,rather than overwriting the same files and deleting previous work you could save the newer data on a new file extension the dates will be saved along with the data so that having dates stamped can help you find earlier or later edits if you wish to revert to different versions.

Another use for having dates stamped onto song data,although it may sound overkill and perhaps very unlikely to the average musician but should you ever encounter some kind of plagiarism of your own compositions,it could be the difference between proving you wrote the song before someone else(although you can alter the calendar to any date you wish,so it's not foolproof or legally provable)

I've the same problem with my key. I think I've no problem changing the battery, but I'd like to know if there is a risk of losing some voices/instruments?!

Back up your PCG/Song data to Media before switching the TEX off to change the battery as a precaution.
