Sv1 won't turn on, flickering light

Post by henkdevries »

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the korg forum so i'll introduce myself quickly.
My name is Matt and about two months ago i bought my SV1 73.

I've been playing the instrument daily for those two months and it has been an awesome instrument overall.

But today whilst playing, the instrument malfunctioned. Like it had been turn off. But the power knob was still on and the tube light was flickering.

So naturally i turned it off. And i've turned it on a few times (i've tried it in different power outlets, without sound- and sustaincables and everything i could think of).

But everytime the same thing happens. Just a vague clicking noise which comes directly out of the instrument (constant speed like twice a second) at the same rate as the flickering of the tube-amp light.

Is my instrument broken? Can i do anything about it or do i have to send it back?

It is clearly malfunctioning - send it back in. They need to fix it.

Sent it back, it was returned to me last week. It was a minor malfunction in the electronics. Back to jamming :)

Did they tell you exactly what the issue was and what they did to fix it (so we can have it posted here for future reference?)

Sorry for posting so late,

The exact issue was something with the electricity input. So, fortunately, nothing major. I'm not an electrician and i still have warranty so sending it back was definitely the best option even if it took over a month to get it back.

But i guess if your good with that sort of stuff, your warranty has run out and you have this exact problem. Try checking with the input, perhaps the internal adaptor.
