Changing effects midstream in sequenced songs

Post by angryquaker »

Good day, friends. Been a while. I'm trying to merge two separate songs together in order to avoid the slight pause when using "Chain" and "Continue," so I can achieve a nice, smooth transition in a medley. Think 15 minutes of glorious, bombastic Pink Floyd. Yes, it shall be epic. Also, I'm kinda OCD, so this needs to be perfect. The thing is, I use different effects for each song. I've got everything set up, songs are sequenced, patch changes, volume changes, etc. and so forth, no problem. However, I can't seem to find a way to change the effects in the middle of a sequence. I'm not referring to modulating the effect, but completely changing effects while the sequencer is going. For example, imagine you have recorded a beautiful passage on a guitar patch, and you like a little chorus on it. Good. Now, 63 measures into that song, you change the guitar patch to a big old greasy organ, and you want a rotary speaker on that. That's what I'm trying to do. I'd appreciate any help. As an addendum, I'm actually a drummer by trade. I use the Trinity's click, so Master Effects are verboten in my world. I use only the Insert Effects, and usually set a nice group of effects to share over various tracks. As I recall, the demo songs are incredibly intricate, and I can't imagine how they'd have done those without being able to change effects. I haven't listened to them in years, or watched the effects screen during playback, just guessing there has to be some way to do it. Hoping against hope, maybe? I did try recording a test track, and setting an effect while it recorded, after a few measures had passed. It simply set that effect for good, and that same effect is present at the beginning of the song now. I'll keep banging my head against it until I figure it out, or until someone hips me up on how to do it. Hopefully the answer won't be, "Nope, sorry, you can't do that on a Trinity."

Hello,

You cannot change the effects within one song in the Trinity.

The only thing you can do is to assign different tracks for part 1 and 2, and affect the effects to those tracks.

Dag nab it. Thanks, Xavier. I suppose it's back to the banging of the head. ](*,) At least until I can save up for a Krome or some such. [-o< I'll just keep telling myself (and bandmates), "Yes, it's a really exaggerated ritard. That adds a lot of drama."

Hello,

I tried to upgrade my Trinity for a Triton, and finally, I've sold the Triton and kept the Trinity.

The sound of the Trinity is too awesome !
