Loading samples

Post by prabdevgun »

Hi, i was reading on the forum that its possible to load samples without the EXB SMPL installed providing you install RAM and the sample is in a Korg format. So I've installed 64MB sample RAM, however when I try to load the sample in a KSF format it comes up as 'Can use */? as Wildcard'?

please could someone advise what this means. Also if I press OK to this, then the file will load but actually where is it loading to? ie it doesnt play the sample.

Any help / ideas/ suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very very much!! :)

KSF isn't very useful on its own because you can't use it for anything. with the EXB-SMPL you could use it to build a multisample - which would saved as a KMP file (I think of KMP as standing for KeyMaP. that's basically what it is). But any decent sample set should come with these. There are also a few computer software packages that can build/save/convert them.

You access mutltisamples once they are loaded from within program edit. Go to Osc1 Basic (after pressing the menu/page select button) and set the source to RAM.

the wildcard option means you can load a whole directory of samples at once just by selecting *
you can select the samples via menu/basic and from osc but you cannot edit the samples in anyway i.e cut loop timestretch etc without exb-smpl. you can load wavs straight in as well as ksf
